I've been on here a week, and what I think would make navigating/finding content easier is adding something like a subreddit. At the moment it just seems harder to find specific content, as the tags don't really label a post to well. Will something like this be implemented in future?

I could only upvote your post, I can't resteem it. I'm starting to believe it has to do with it being older than 7 days. And I don't understand why but It's a shame.
The tagging system takes a little getting used to, but it works well enough.
That feature is coming soon with Steemit Communities.
