I am new here so I am still working my way around the site. My own strategy is to keep my head down and put out quality stuff that is from the heart and/or backed by data or personal experience. This should hopefully allow some of my readers to benefit. And leave the rest, particularly equity in discovery and reward, to the mods to improve over time. I can focus on only one thing (which is within my control) and that is the quality/relevance vector.

Their is no mods, so it probably won't improve over time!
But you are right, the key to success it the quality of the content.
Good point about the absence of a mod, Clement. I guess my point really is that your entire energy as a content creator is better served focusing on getting kick-ass quality out rather than figuring out how to hack the system in your favour at the margins. I suspect that my approach is likelier to move the needle in the long-term.
