Hi dear Steemians,
After reading a lot of the content posted here, I realized that a lot of posts have very heavy images that take a lot of time to load. Since the images are uploaded in the Steemit network, let’s help to reduce the storage space and the computing power to load them.
Let’s optimize Steemit with these simple but effective steps so it can keep running smooth! We all have to take good care of this amazing platform, right 😉?
There are different free image optimizers online, but today I will show you 2 of my favorite ones. They are doing a great job compressing the images by removing the unnecessary data and keeping the quality of the image.
The best of all is that they are completely free and you don’t need to sign up to use them.
So let’s do it Steemians!
1. TinyPNG
a) Open the website https://tinypng.com/
b) Drag & Drop your image file into the dotted box.
c) IMPORTANT: Take a sip of coffee while the Panda makes his magic job
d) Voilà! ...Download your optimized image file and keep rocking Steemit
2. Kraken
a) Open the website https://kraken.io/ and klick on “Try Free Web Interface”
b) Drag & Drop your image file into the dotted box.
c) IMPORTANT: Take a sip of coffee here as well ;)
d) Voilà! ...Download your optimized image file and keep rocking Steemit
WAIT WAIT I have a couple of last tips for you 😃!
Upload images with a maximum width size of 800px. That size is enough to cover the whole width of the post space.
Great sources to find good quality & free stock photos for your posts are https://www.pexels.com/ and https://pixabay.com/.
I hope these tips will help you to optimize your posts and to keep Steemit performing like a champ👍.
If you are running a website, I would recommend you to compress all your images there as well to improve the load times of your pages. That will even help you to rank better in Google.
Do you think this information is important to maintain and even improve the good performance of Steemit?
Then, let’s spread the word and resteemit! Thanks for your upvote 😊
Looking forward to your comments below and to your ideas on how to optimize the steemit posts!
