Appreciated the ideas in this post. I am a poet who came to steemit searching for a platform to display my poetry. The money thing wasn't of great interest but a nice little add on I certainly wouldn't turn down. I have however noticed how incredibly difficult it is sifting through the crap people throw at the wall in hopes of gathering steem. There is quality, professional content hidden under the mounds of garbage if only it were easier to locate. Focus must shift from currency to content for steemit to be something other than just another flash in the pan get rich quick scheme. You are so right that the focus so far has been on the wrong things. It has placed the cart firmly in front of the horse and is going nowhere.
