STEEMIT has now been updated and a lot has changed! This is just to let all my followers know (If you don't know already). If you read my previous post about not posting on everything HERE then you will know about Vote Power and that do you now have an infinite amount.
With the update your votes now take a lot more of your voting power, you may have noticed that some of your posts really skyrocketed(Merry Christmas!). This is because of the update. Your votes now count upwards of 2% of your Voting Power. This means they are worth more, also means you run out of voting power faster. So be careful on what you vote for. This is just a fair and honest warning to everyone to not deplete their Voting Power really fast. Use it sparingly!
Your Voting Power does regenerate at a rate of around 0.8% per hour. To see you current voting power visit www.steemd.com/@yourusername your voting power will be on the left.
Another alternative is steemnow.com enter your user name at the top right and you will see your voting power bar when the site refreshes.

I have no idea what that means. How much voting power do we get, how is it limited, how do we grow it, ah, so many questions....?

Just visited steemd.com. Oh Lordy, that's lot of numbers-I was none the wiser! But I found in the faqs that I can do 40 upvotes a day without losing power. So here's one to say thanks for the tip! :)

Well said... Might take sometime before folks understand. Presently they might be super-pleased seeing the rewards spike with each upvote!
I agree, I fear so many will deplete their voting power now. Guess they will learn about the changes eventually, but better that they at least get a warning before they upvote everything.

Steemit did it. This awesome community. They realised some of the authors who try really hard are not always upvoted or rewarded fairly. They gave the newer more power, but also more responsibility on what they will vote on. So I take it we will get fewer votes in the future, but higher payouts. You struck it really lucky mate, most people post once a day. So it's 7 posts that will get the huge rewards. You have like 30 in the last 7 days. This is the jackpot for you! Making me jelly! Hehe JK
But those pictures have not just simply come... I'm the last three years, every day, taken pictures, and it's very exhausting. But I like make photos, In the simplest possible way I just like , But what happened today, I can only say WOW.... And Thank you!! Thank you!!
I am going to be MORE selective now, as before I would give everyone 100 percent of my vote. Now with it being used up quicker I have to learn to pace myself.
Yes already a few people in the chat with 0 voting power haha.. So you can lower your vote to 5% or 20% if you want to spread it out a bit more and that will still work will it not? but now 100% is 2 vote power instead of 1?
You have quite a large account so you have the slider to set voting power. Normally 1 vote at 100% voting power cost you 0.5%. With the new update it's 2%. When your Voting power decreases so does your Voting cost. For example when your voting power is at 60% it may cost you around 1.1% (guessing here). With your slider you can just carry on as normal and say exaclty how much your vote is worth. For the newbies without the slider, our votes are 2% at 100% voting power. But most users are probably tapped out by now, hehe
Snap, I didn't know that I was special and got a slider.. I thought they just added it. I moved over 2700 steem when it was 1$ .. So I did good. Now I'm here for what appears to be 'steemits rise of the middle class'
Yes you are super lucky! I Believe once you have around 500 Steem power you get the slider! Ill get my soon hopefully! Just need to make some more posts and get some resteems.

I don't think a vote will lower the amount. The price of STEEM will/could lower the amount though. All prices are calculated at current Steem value
i followed you, i am new and so far trying to figure out all the ins and outs has been a little difficult for me, i am faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from being a computer guru, i will upvote you in a while when my steem power gets a little stronger, i did not know i was burning through steem as i voted but there is so much knowledge on this site that i need/want to learn i am teetering on the edge of spending some USD on cryptocurrency and this is about the only place you can find any real informaiton aobut how it works , with actual people who trade in it and not hypothetical stories or information.
