Anybody else has the feeling steemit still needs some tweaking for mass adoption ?

in #steemit7 years ago

I'm a new user of Steemit and no doubt it is a great concept. It's the first fully usable blockchain technology.

But to be honest it also feels some extra evolution is needed to make it a mass succes.

It feels like a proof of concept, a theoretical idea.

It feels like the internet in the early days. I just wonder if anybody is working on a next generation steemit ?

For me navigation should be smoother, historical searching should be easier. Interaction between followers more direct ?

Again great concept no doubt. Some great minds should push it to the next level.

Like this it will always be the crypto/computer/math guys enjoying themselves :-)

Nothing wrong with that but the concept is so brilliant it could be much more.

I completely agree. Right now, you sort of have to look at WHO is developing Steemit...

I submit until you have some various types of people helping guide the User Experience (UX manager, designers, writers, artists) you probably are just going to have a society OF, By, and FOR crypto geeks.

Indeed like in every company you need different profiles to challenge each other. I'm a finance guy and marketing sometimes drives me crazy. But thats the way you end up in progress.

YO can anyone help me out here

when I get for example an upvote of 2.2$ and the price of steem is 1.1$ that means I got 2 STEEM, and if the price of STEEM turns to 1$ the upvote will be worth 2$ am I right?

and if the post was powered up at 100% THEN i'll get exactly 2 SP when the post pays me

Can anyone confirm?

Good post, I always agree with looking at things with an eye for improvement. I agree but think we'll be okay as long as the community stays strong and active.

Indeed we are ok for now. But a copycat with a big team and and good ideas can outrun you easily.

Agree, let me know "steemit" if i can contribute i am very talented when it comes to "Javascript" i also program in PHP, but i guess Javascript would be sweeter for user experience :) can make pretty much anything

It is true, new things need time to get a finalized status. Now steemit is a beta, but in the outside, for a reader, it doesn't look very different from any mainstream publishing place like medium

For me a Beta version can only exist for a little while. It's for selected users to get out the latest bugs. Now the Beta only seems there as some kind of 'excuse'. My post sounds more negative than I am :)

Sure, there are still quite a few tweaks that need to happen before this is ready for mass adoption. Yes, the user interface is "early web" and somewhat based off Reddit, which (in itself) hasn't had much of a facelift in 10+ years. There are some things in the works, but they are more "features" than interface updates-- "Communities," hopefully an internal message feature of some kind; hopefully some photo album features and the like.

Its still beta.

True but what does that mean exactly. How long can something be in beta ?

Remember this site is still in its beta version. Dan developed Steemit to be scalable so that over time it will adapt and change as more and more people use it. Decentralized platforms are the future and this is just the very beginning :-D

True but it is getting time for the next step. Otherwise you lose momentum

Agree it is certainly not a finished product. It needs to compete with facebook & co to succeed. It does look promising and also believe in Steemit concept but it needs more. Visually needs to be much more attractive and the user experience needs to be more polished as well.

Indeed I fully agree. Momentum is there we shouldn
