One of my resolutions for the new year is to meditate more. While I haven’t been able to do it every single day I’m happy with my progress so far.
To help with a daily goal and to encourage other Steemit users to meditate more I created a Steemit meditation group on Insight Timer. It’s a place where steemit users could chat about meditation and mindfulness with others around the world.
If you are unfamiliar with Insight Timer it’s simply a meditation app with self-guided and guided sessions. It has some other cool features such as tracking your progress and showing you who in the world is meditating at this moment in time, who you meditated with, and groups. I’ve been using it since early 2015 and I think it’s great. I personally use the self-guided timer 99% of the time but the few guided ones have been good.
To join the Steemit group on Insight Timer follow these steps.

Thanks for your post but I have some questions, what are the big advantages of joining a group like this, is it just for chatting about meditation? And what is the timer for, does it give you the best time to meditate for.
Thanks for the questions. Yeah it's for chatting about meditation. Ask questions, share techniques and information. A place where steemit users interested in meditation can chat about the subject with like minded people.
I use the timer simply as a timer. I add interval bells at the beginning and end of the session as well as every 10 minutes. You could choose the sound of the bell too. The tracking is pretty neat. It's kinda like a fit bit for your meditation practice. You could also set a reminder to meditate on the app as well; not a big deal but kinda like a nag to do it.
Also if you are into guided meditations they have plenty of those.
