As in this lesson just learned from @grumpycat -- Don't bid on bots that bid on posts more than 3 days old. Grumpy will seek you out and take a chunk of SBD back from you and all the curators!))

    Very glad to know this was a useful post and welcome to Steemit.

    Yes, I actually had read about the 3 day GrumpyCat "compliance", but had neglected to carefully check the bot before I bid. It was an expensive mistake, hopefully learned only once and hopefully all those who have read this will not have to make.
