No tar or feathers?

Well, I’ve been informed that steemstem is a place where people don’t discuss science because the subject is taboo. I understand that very well. It’s clear that many people would be happier if I would peddle my wares elsewhere.

I’ve also been directly accused of being “deliberately” provocative. While I’m surprised and offended at this gratuitous shot, I understand that reaction also. I don’t know exactly what that person believed was “provoking” him or her (all of it?), but it’s clear that that person impugned my motives and my character.

That person was also wise enough and kind enough to apologize for that mistake. I appreciate that very much.

It takes courage to risk finding out that some of one’s presumptive beliefs might be incoherent; that might be why many educated people don’t want to understand or practice critical thinking. Some don’t want to hear or see anything about postmodernism; it rocks their equilibrium. Some people are terrified of being mistaken, and many of us repress our fears.

So I’ve been effectively discouraged, and I’ll get out of town, but I’ll be right next door to talk to anyone who wants to step out of the strictures imposed by this closed culture. I'll get messages at https://discord.gg/3UJyZPc.
