Evacuation of residents of Debaltseve

The story of my memories August 2015.

That it was clear a little bit before history.

From April 13, 2014, the Debaltsevo railway junction with a population of 45 thousand people, 55 km north-east of Donetsk, was under the control of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic [29]. In the second half of July 2014, the Ukrainian armed forces launched an offensive on the Debaltsevskiy direction from Artyomovsk in order to cut off the DPR grouping from the LPR. Under Debaltsevoe fierce fighting ensued.

By July 28, Ukrainian troops completely captured the city and railway junction. The attackers were able to “bend” the flank of the Gorlovka grouping Igor Bezler and cut the Donetsk-Lugansk railway, but they did not manage to solve the task of exiting the Donetsk group for Enakievo to the rear and organize a decisive attack on Gorlovka [4].

The counterattacks on Debaltseve, undertaken by the Armed Forces of Novorossia in August, were unsuccessful due to uncoordinated efforts (the northeastern flank of the Debaltsevsky protrusion is the responsibility of the army of the LC, the south-west - DPR) and the need to simultaneously solve more important tasks in the south. By the fall, Debaltseve was turned into a powerful fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian group, having penetrated into the territory controlled by the militias, threatened such cities as Gorlovka, Yenakiyevo, Shakhtersk, as well as Alchevsk and Stakhanov in the Luhansk region. On the other hand, the configuration of the front line in this sector allowed the rebel formations to attempt to conduct an operation to encircle Debaltsev, which finally happened in January – February 2015.

In August 2015, there was a 3rd stage of evacuation of residents from the city of Debaltseve and ps. Chernukhino when I found out about it, I wanted to help people with evacuation.

In the morning, I took my car some food and water, and went to help take people out of the city of Debaltseve. Arriving there I saw a very terrible, many people stood in the square with things in their hands, and waited until they were evacuated there were all families with children, old people, pregnant women, I got out of the car and moved to the crowd going up to the crowd I said loudly that I A family consisting of 5 people came, a wife, a husband, a wife, a mother, and two children came to evacuate the population. The boy loaded the things into the car. They all sat down and we moved out of town and I brought them to Alchevsk and dropped them off at the refugee reception center.

I collected my thoughts and I moved to evacuate people, passing by the block of the post, the military stopped me and asked where I was going,

telling them that I was edu to Debaltseve to evacuate people, they said to wait 10 minutes, I sat and waited about 10 minutes later, military people approached about below the militiamen and told me that I took 2 people with them from their post and brought them to the village Chernukhino, they threw water into the trunk for me, their belongings among the things were machine guns, a grenade launcher, and some kind of a box, they got into the car and we drove on, on the way there was a conversation with the militiamen, and they told me that after from the city people are evacuated this city will be razed to the ground, who will equalize I did not understand. We arrived at the block post in Chernukhino, the militia got out of the car and told me to wait, I waited for them for 5 minutes, they brought two five-liter gasoline canisters to me and gave me a flak jacket telling me that when I was going home I, if possible, returned it, to be honest, I felt so uncomfortable why he told me I tell them they say it will come in handy, and silently took it and drove on to Debaltseve, drove up to the square and the stone people sat a young couple girl and boyfriend and grandfather with a woman I moved back with them to Alchevs on the way, the woman broke up, about how she left the house, about how a cow remained in her house, she told in hysterics and I felt sorry for the woman, and especially the cow who stayed at home alone, she could die from the explosions, I brought them to the evacuation point and moved back to the city of Debaltsevo on the way, I stopped at a gas station, since I didn’t have much petrol left in the tank with me, I had the currency in rubles 600r, I refueled for 12 liters of gasoline I spent the last money

which I had with regard to the gasoline that I still had, I could go to Debaltseve one more time and evacuate more residents, I moved on. I’ll finish until the second part is tomorrow, now it’s time for
