This is quite a hard subject as people are already paying to get up votes in exchange. I don't find it fair at all but will a free bot be better? Not sure if anyone with bad content can get up votes. I think the best is to create more tools and communities to help good creators to grow or give a restricted access to bots for good quality content creators. I'm not good at creating this stuff as I only arrived in the community but this is just to express my viewpoint.

Old post... what I was looking for essentially already existed with SteemVoter.

Oh ok thanks, is there any article about how it works?

there's probably something on their blog @steemvoter

though just sign yourself up at https://steemvoter.com - setup rules, which have the account name you want to vote for, voting strength, and time delay. and that's pretty much it - simple and straightforward.

Thanks, even better

No worries, found one from
@jerrybanfield

Yes, Just like all the other comments are saying Steemvoter.com has an amazing free open to all bot program. Created by the kind and generous @marcgodard. To make an equal level playing field, so that you don't have to be a "techy" to have a bot

Donating the rewards from this post to steemvoter would be very kind of you as they have already helped a lot of people. Oh also, if you start using steemvoter bot it would be awesome to be added to your "rules" list ^_^
You can check out the type of stuff to see if you like what I post, thanks;)

Isn't promoting bots something that is going to hurt steemit? Do we really need bots that will disturb the system and give rewards to those who don't really deserve it?

I think bots are good for steemit. Here is my reasoning.

They'll make mistakes along the way, but in the end they'll work through competition and collaboration to rank steemit pages just as accurately as any of the major search engines. Would you ask Google to replace their computing farm with an army of humans reading through every web page on the Internet?

We don't deserve it? I wrote the best voting bot on steem, and I think I do deserve the (very small) rewards that I'm earning from it. This is what my bot does: when a new post is published on Steemit, my bot gives it a score based on how much it thinks the post will earn. If my bot liked the post, 30 minutes later, it comes back and checks if the post has gotten a lot of votes. If the post has not gotten a lot of votes, my bot votes for it.

So, recap: My bot is programmed to vote for posts that are

  • unpopular
  • high-quality

Why shouldn't I be paid a little tiny bit for that?

Can we discuss a bot for my needs?

if I use a bot, I choose who goes on the list and gets my rewards. I would not put anyone on the list who I feel does not deserve it. And I would continually check in to make sure those authors are continuing to post quality content - if they slipped up and I felt they didn't deserve my rewards any longer, they'd be off the list.

Hey @rok-sivante,
if you get a bot up can I be added to your list of people to upvote. I write original stories that have to be made using random words. I'm a published author outside of steemit. If anyone else can add me it would be greatly appreciated too :)

I know this is a really old post but how can I get steemed or any other bots to follow me ?

Consistently produce quality content that attracts and people want to reward.

W.T.F. does this have to do with the above post...???

Yes!

Sigh.

Is this different than @steemvoter?

steemvoter.com

Oh you all beat me to hit before my page refreshed...

Hi rok, obviously the correct answer to your question is steemvoter, as everybody else has pointed out.

My work isn't deserving of your bounty, but I operate a private curation service for a limited number of clients, and I'd be happy to add you to it if you want: https://steemit.com/curation/@biophil/milestone-reached-i-m-the-best-curator-on-steemit

My bot attempts to maximize curation rewards, which means it never ever votes for those curation wastelands like steemsports and curie. It attempts to predict which posts are going to be successful, but have not yet received many votes.

I could include you in my bot at whatever voting power you'd like if you want to try it out.

That is awesome Biophil, I didn't know about you bot! I wouldn't judge your work by saying it isn't deserving of his reward. I think it is really cool what you created, I am checking it out now!

I agree that I really dont recieve many reward for either of those when I was testing if I would. That is awesome, I am very interested in seeing how your bot work.

how would this get set up?

As @steemed help support me and several other writers at the start, so I'd like to use my Steem Power to support others on this site.

Aaah, so THIS is why I'm in your auto-vote list big bro :P
I don't use any of those auto-bots, I heard about Steemdunk, what do you use? I guess I should place you and your wife there as well.

@rok-sivante you can follow my recent post. If you think my post are useful, then comment me or suggest me as a favour. Thanks.
