A couple of days ago I was giving out upvotes to people for telling me something about themselves. I'm not back up to 99.6 voting power so I feel it's about time to do another run. This time I want you to tell me how you got here (facebook post, blog article, word of mouth, etc) and I'll upvote your comment! This morning I seem to be worth .14 so if you're looking for some change, why not?
Like last time, I'm not asking to do upvote trades, but if people do upvote, I will flip the proceeds of this post back into steem power to help charge me up more for the next post. So stay tuned, and get to typing!
Make sure you also swing by my other post to see another way I'm using Steemit to make a difference: Second "Steemit Community" Crowdfunding Donation Has Been Made!
I claim no rights to the image used above as I have no idea what the license is on it, I just wanted to catch people's eye with an image of spare change, which I'm giving out.
My friend @dmcshady introduced me to Steemit on what's app in a group chat. I have been on Steemit ever since and I love it!
Cool! Yeah, I've been spending too much time here since I got on. Definitely more time than I want to admit.
Yeah another additive social media platform to add to the list lolol... Thanks for the vote :)
i agree and appreciate your thoughts as i have today post a story same like you read it here.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@shaheer001/hello-steemit-why-the-begginers-or-the-low-steem-power-are-getting-just-pennies-while-the-top-rewaded-highy-steem-power-sucking
Yep, I commented over there for you! Hope this helps a bit.
I am 90% certain shaheer001 is a bot.
It's possible, at least it does a better job at sounding like a person if it is.
Some guy from primedice tell me about this site :)
Works for me!
I was looking through a crypto marketcap page last week and saw Steem was in the #2 or #3 spot at the time and I hadn't even heard of it! I'm usually following the crypto landscape pretty closely so was blown away that I was so oblivious to its rise. After reading through the whitepaper a few times and signing up I can promise I'll be here forever. I love the idea and opportunity (and the community).
Very nice! Yeah, I expect to be here for the long haul, hence why I'm doing things like this. A little bit of effort to make the community better.
Thanks, its amazing how happy I am getting upvoted for 12 cents, when I would probably walk by a dime on the ground and never pick it up lol. How do you tell what % your voting power is at?
It is crazy isn't it? You can find out by going to www.steemd.com/@yourusername and look through the column on the left side.
Awesome, thanks that site is amazing. Thanks for the help!
Found it on Yahoo news last week. Been on it daily since. :-D
It's cool to hear someone found it through another site not specifically related to cryptocurrencies. Glad to have you around.
youtube baby! I was looking up some info on lisk.
I'm surprised I haven't seen more youtube mentions yet.
Hey robsteady come over and chat with us, https://gli.ph/d/conversations/5796bcd23f47a55e93211931
I can't get into a chat right now since I'm at work, but I'll try to get over there tonight.
Okay man no problem just let me know
My friends @churdtzu & @battleayzee posted an interview I did with them on their podcast a couple months ago, then sent me the $90 it earned :-) I've got lots of content, and am always making more, and as I dug into #Steemit, I got super motivated to start sorting, editing, and posting everything I've made :-)
Nice, glad to hear it's been profitable for you since before you were here!
Right? Not often beginner's luck kicks even before you get started.
I've found steemit on bitcointalk.
I found steemit through a coindesk or cointelegraph article a while back. Forgot about it at first but been back since the 'first-payout-hype'.
Thanks,
-Kaj
An instagram follower wrote about it in the comment section of one of my photos and i decided to check it out
Not bad, welcome to the site!
I learned about Bitcoin while I was searching about Gold and Silver last year, then ended up with Decred. I bought Bitcoin in April this year to add to my 282 Decred coins received at the airdrop. Since I'm following the Bitcointalk.org, I'm on Poloniex and did hear talking about Steem!
Here I Am!
Definitely a clickbait!
Hahaha, the funny part is I'm not even looking for votes, just trying to spread some spare change, but thanks for coming by!
I found Steem through CoinMarketCap, I was looking to get back into Crypto and I was wondering what the heck this Steem thing that came out of nowhere to be #3 in the Market Capitalization.
Yeah, it's a pretty crazy situation isn't it?
Thank you for you support sir!
No problem, just trying to help the community!
This hot guy I am married to named @robsteady kept asking me to join.
Hey Robsteady!! I'm here on this post because of your comment on my 'UFC' post from earlier today :-) Community engagement is FUN!!
Also, I learned about Steemit from the CoinMarketCap page. I have some BTC and ETH and the prices have been very interesting to watch, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere Steem is #3. Also, it doubled in price over 2 days at that time - So I decided to check it out!!!
Thanks for the Post today!! I UFC'd!!!!
Yeah, I started gathering up a bit of ether, but with the whole ETC/ETH thing I decided to just sell it off. Maybe I'll look at it again once everything calms down. I am also a little discouraged with the price of STEEM the last couple of days, but it's still young, we shall see what happens.
Saw a tweet from Erik Voorhees about the market cap surging.
That's certainly a cool place to find out about it!
Found about it on a crypto news website, if I remember correctly it was CoinDesk where I've read about steemit first...
i found steemit over bitcoin sites (: and now im here^^
I was lurking on the trading view crypto chat when people began to discuss steem and the huge pump. I googled it and became more curious so I signed up on steemit. Now I'm completely hooked!
I'm glad to be here and glad to meet you.
Thanks! Nice to meet you too. Despite how "broken" the system may appear to some, I have some really high hopes for this place.
I had known about Steemit for a while. I first was reading about Synereo (which I think is a version of the same thing, which isn't live yet?), and then I came across Steemit.
I regret not buying steem power back when I first knew about it lol. This kind of thing is very near and dear to my heart, I just didn't realize it was really ready to roll. Anyways, when I saw the price rising I took a closer look, and realized it's rolling and that there's already an active community.
Yeah, there's a decent bit of activity, we just got to get more people with enough SP to make a difference on a more regular basis.
Ya it's really top-heavy right now, so there's a bunch of variance whether a big gun comes through or not
I got here when I saw the crazy rise in price on CoinMarketCap! My friend knew about it and discussed with me. My intro post - https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@bitcoiner/qdvbi-hello-friend
I honestly ended up here because I heard that it is a blockchain powered social media site. When I saw that being discussed, being a crypto-nerd, I headed on over.
Well that's definitely a good inspiration. Glad to have you around!
lol i was googling weed stuff
Yeah, and there was certainly a couple of posts about weed in the feed lately.
You know, I'm always in search of something sensational, so I clicked the ad of steemit and here I am.
I'm glad to hear it was an ad that led you here. It's still new so I'm not sure how much advertising has been done, but it worked for at least one person so far. Welcome!
I came across it on CoinMarketCap.com. I read about it. I got hooked, because I normally hate social media (it's pointless), but this has incentivized me to post good, quality content on a social media platform for the first time. I've invested in the system now that I understand it, and I totally dig it, other than a few flaws that I think will get ironed out over time.
From a news article on Yahoo!'s home page two days ago.
Saw a small notification of a tech website on my laptop, ignored it that day. Curiosity took over. Joined next day! That's my story :)
That's kinda what happened to me. I think it was a post on reddit at the beginning of June. I couldn't not sign up once I read about it. :-)
i just wish i had done it in june too!! anyways now is not late either! :)
Very true. I hadn't been as involved as I should have been in early June. I didn't really have any idea what it was about and knew I had to wait almost a month before the first payout so I didn't do as much as I could have. Oh well.
i found steem back in late June when scouting for new sites for a budgeting and earning facebook group. I dismissed it pretty quickly because of the cryptocurrency, I didn't have enough knowledge about it to spot if the site was a scam or not. Then i saw max keiser singing it's praises on twitter so had to come back and sign up.
I left Facebook several months ago because of my own personal reasons I'll refrain from getting into, but have missed the social aspect of it quite dearly. On Monday I received a call from @kennyskitchen informing me of this incredible new platform that allows for anonymity, security, and has incentives to post and interact! It sounded like a dream come true, so I checked it out and have been addicted ever since I began posting on Tuesday. :)
Yeah, I've been off and on and off again with facebook for a few years. Steemit has pretty much replaced the community aspect of it for me, just not the family part... yet.
I have had a similar experience - I left FB for good this final time, only returning since beginning Steemit to promote the site and bring more users to forge a new path! Though, I have to say that I was lucky joining Steem and quickly came across this chat that helps the other members out in a hospitable manner. Everyone is very kind and all of the authors have been posting fantastic content that its hard not to go below 50% vote weight hehe. I suggest coming and checking it out if you have some free time! :D
https://gli.ph/d/conversations/57931e293f47a55e92bd906a
I noticed steem growing up the ranks on coinmarketcap. Fell in love.
My friend told me about it. I am so thankful for it. Now i steem often and check daily for posts! It can get addicting! :)
Yeah, It's pretty bad. I'm on here almost all day while I'm at work and (probably a little too often) when I'm at home as well.
A few weeks ago XEM hit a spike so I sold some of my holdings on Poloniex. I scanned the trollbox and noted that people were talking a lot about Steem, which had been recently added to Poloniex. Then last week I saw some kind of article about Steemit where the author was saying that new registrations were going to close and that was a good thing. The article explained more what the platform was like and it sounded pretty interesting. I figured I'd better sign up quick in case registrations closed and then I could educate myself about what I'd just signed up for later. So I registered and breathed a sigh of relief that I could still do it. Then I started reading articles and the more I learned, the more I wanted to get involved with posting content, so that's what I've been doing. My earnings have been small so far, but I'm not worried. It's actually nice to be able to post a short post like this one (https://steemit.com/steemit/@wiser/eureka), which took just a few minutes to write and earn 34 cents on it. I think I'm here to stay :)
Yeah, it's a pretty sweet situation. We just gotta get more people powered up so those posts can be worth even more. Of course, the exchanges will probably counter more users having more steem with an even deeper drop, but we'll see how that goes.
My friend whom I told about bitcoin long time ago now tell mee about steem.
I was browsing through facebook when I saw @eliezeryudkowsky post a link to an article he wrote on here. (https://steemit.com/startup/@eliezeryudkowsky/movable-housing-for-scalable-cities)
Yudkowsky's a pretty cool guy, a Singularity advocate, and he wrote HPMOR (great book, google it) so I decided to check it out.
That was last night, and I've been on Steem since I woke up..
Found Steemit through coinmarketcap.com while checking prices for Bitcoins, LItecoins and Dogecoins . Ended up joining just before it broke 1.50 USD. I then used all I had in those three cryptocurrencies (not much mind you, under 100$) and powered up :)
Have a great day !
I think I would have to say I found Steem by fluke. I am a subscriber of Craig Grant and I kept seeing his videos on youtube and ignoring them.....lol. But today for some reason I decided to watch and he started talking about Steem. Not in relation to the social media platform, but about the currency. I had no clue it was a social site....wow is all I have to say. How many people are on here does anyone know?
@welcometonepal introduced me to steemit :)
A bot named Isaac Asimov and that's all it does? Come on people...
give credit, is a creative name
