Finding your way on Steemit can be a bit confusing even for someone who has used social media and computers for decades.
I have been keeping a list since the first day I joined Steemit of the tools that have helped me so that I could pass them on to those that joined after me. All of these tools are free to use and provide valuable information about your account. Although a few of the tools on the list provide similar content, they do so in different formats allowing specicific information to be focused on. The following are presented in no particular order of preference so I would encourage you to have a look at each one:
Steemviz,com. https://steemviz.com
Steemviz is a collection of useful tools for monitoring your account. The one I use the most in the suite of tools is the Pending Payouts tool featured below.
I also really like Steemnow https://steemnow.com because it breaks things down even more, plus it allows me to monitor my current voting power too. The site offers a sliding tool that allows you to see the dollar amount every percentage of your upvote will give the recipient. Steemnow also provides a very useful daily rewards summary that gives a quick snapshot of your day to day activity.
Steem Supply http://steem.supply is tool I only recently discovered but it does a really great job of identifying your current account assets and representing all categories graphically. I use it to set goals for growth in my account.
A fun tool that I use from time to time to see who is swimming in the Steemit seas with me is Whale Sonar. http://steem.loadsup.net/sonar Although the tool does provide valuable information about voting percentage and who is active at the current moment... truth be told I just find it relaxing to watch.
If you are looking for a tool that provides more information than most us will ever use then I would suggest SteemStats https://steemstats.com it allows you to track multiple accounts and provides indepth stats on all things Steemit (posts, upvoted, voting power, incoming votes and the list goes on and on). I use it to monitor my account and as you can see also the randowhale account to see when voting percentages are optimal (although less of an issue now that they have changed the parameters of the service to a fixed percentage).
Along the same lines as Steemstats is the tool Steemdb https://steemdb.com but what I love about Steemdb is that it allows me to track all of my activities (everything I voted on, all comments and replies etc.). I use it to recap my previous session on Steemit and plan for what I want to accomplish today.
One last tool that I have just started using (last night in fact) is Downvote Viewer from https://minnowshares.net/downvote.html this tool does what it says, it lists the posts that have been downvoted (usually for plagiarism or another violation). Beyond the obvious voyeuristic nature of the site, I use it to check out the posts to see if I have voted on any of their content that has been downvoted. It is a good way to stay connected with the moral tone of the community and to make sure that all my posts have been documented and that they are clearly on the right side of the line.
That is all for now but I am already working on a second list. If you have a favourite that I mentioned or one of your own, please let me know in the comments below.
