As concerning the 2 Steemit accounts I wasn't even aware that one could pay for an account!? I think in your case focus on one account which you want to develop at this point in time. I have heard of many people who run multiple steemit accounts (some up to 14), particularly if they have varying niches. At this stage don't fret too much, as you may decide to use both in future.
