I like your skepticism. The interface definitely leaves more to be desired but is at least clean simple and works. The fact it got hacked is bad and enforcing a 2FA at bare minimum needs to happen. But almost every business/website is getting hacked today because security is always a lagging priority. If you clone steemit but don't make any changes, why would anyone use that? And that's the point. Anyone can make software that interfaces with the steem blockchain and there is open source software you can use to help you develop it. And yes, most people will make more money with a real job but some people will have wild success on here and won't need to do that. But that's a small subset of the users. It's not really any different on youtube, twitch etc. Only a small percentage of users actually can make it worth it money wise.

ive seen a lot in crypto over the last years, so i have to be sceptical because now word is out people can make easy money blogging or earning interest on steem power, which sunds great but who stops the developers from taking of with all their funds or gamble them off , people and money just dont work well together, especially its hard to trust anyone with the money and the crypto community has almost seen it all, mt gox, silkroad, theDAO etc etc. you might can trust mathematics but you can never trust the people using it especially in crypto, hopefully im just to sceptical and everything works out but im prepared for the worst
In truth and at the moment, this platform is a democracy of 99 well-meaning hitlers and one jew. Voting at this point is meaningless in a sane world. Which brings me to my question. Is humanity insane? What's funny is i see all these self-proclaimed anarchists using a voting system. This is ironic.
