RE: Is Steemit the Future of Self-Publishing? (A Veteran Author’s Opinion)

Very interesting to read this; thanks for sharing your experience.

My wife has been considering whether or not "serializing" her (non-fiction) book on Steemit would be a viable thing to consider, and you've answered a lot of questions here. Granted, she has nowhere the Steemit following you do, but it still seems like it would work out a lot better than (for example) trying to get a lift through somewhere like Patreon, with follow-up promotions through other channels.

It seems really hard to persuade Facebookers to do anything more than "like" something, so it makes sense to put your effort someplace where such "likes" (aka upvotes) actually give you a monetary benefit.

I'm curious as to how much the existing following matters, and how much the serialization of the book will generate new followers. I tried something a while back that did not work, but I don't know if it would have if I'd kept at it. If your wife does do this, please make sure you tag me so I can follow along.
