Over the course of the next 5 days or so the following changes will be made to @randowhale in order to improve results for you, the community. Please note, during this time you may continue to utilize @randowhale. The only noticeable differences will be the voting weight and voting account, both detailed below.
Details:
In order to process more requests, with a higher payout, the voting range will be adjusted to 0.10%-1.00%. After speaking with some smart humans, I have confirmed this should result in increased rewards given the increased voting power even though there is a reduction in the voting weight. The account that places the votes will be temporarily changed to @randowhale1 which has 100% voting power currently and comparable Steem Power allocated. @randowhale will be taken offline allowing him to recharge to 100% voting power. Requests should continue to be sent to @randowhale and not @randowhale1. This will occur within the next 24 hours.Once 100% voting power has been reached, @randowhale will be brought back online with a new voting range of 0.10% - 1.00%. The donation will remain at 2 Steem or 2 SBD per request.
Please follow @randowhale to stay current with updates and upcoming changes. A post will be made as each change is made.
Hmm I will try it out. Though I guess I am missing something. Avg voting weight percentage between 1 and 5 was 3%. Between 0.1 and 1 that's 0.55%. That's a near sixfold reduction. To counter this, there should be a near sixfold increase in voting power, which there is not. Only around 3-4 fold, from avg 30% to somewhere in the 90s. Hmmm.... what am I missing.
I agree... It seem so low, 0.5% was ok, but 0.1% . who nows, I'll give it a try, and see if it gets $5 or above, otherwise it means losing money (5-2=3, 3/2.5 = 1.2). And getting lucky with a high percentage doesn't compensates so easily. I don't what to gamble as if randowhale were a casino. (And I just send by mistake to randowale, such a shame!)

So you pay $2 to get a $3.31 upvote at best.

Currently the account has less than 25% voting power. If the account is at 100% voting power the vote will have more impact even though the vote % is lower. Human math...

Once the new model is implemented it should remain close to 100% vote power at all times, unless traffic really picks up.
Right now 2 SBD = US$4.78 according to coinmarketcap. I just purchased a vote where I received US$2.42. So, it's a net loss of $1.43. Let me know if I am missing something in my calculation.
Also, you mentioned the voting power will always be close to 100%, but right now its 42.80% according to steemnow.com. I liked the concept of randowhale, but I don't see how it can be profitable for us.

Can you maybe clarify what was meant here? Are you saying to continue sending requests to randowhale for the next 24 hours until the changeover occurs at an undecided time of your choosing? Or did you mean to say that we need to now post to randowhale1 until randowhale is all planktoned up again? :)

Keep sending upvote requests to @randowhale as usual. You will receive the upvote from @randowhale1 for a period of time. They are just letting everyone know this now so that when the upvote comes from the other account the user doesn't freak out or get confused.
