Referencing Your Own Non-Fiction Books

Old School Updated

Finding and Writing good content may not be easy on any given day. I am fortunate to have a personal non-fiction library I can use as references for writing. Many of them I purchased new while some I picked up used.

The Association of Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) in Virginia Beach has purportedly the largest metaphysical library on the East Coast of the United States. They have used books for sale to the public which is fun to browse and purchase. Your local public library might sell used reference books also. It's more difficult to quote passages from a physical book than just a copy/paste, but non-fiction books have contents, indexes and sometimes additional resource information leading to internet pages.

The difficulty I had was referencing the books in a manner acceptable to the Steemit platform.

I decided to take to the discord channel to get some expert advice. I found my way to MinnowBooster Discord Channel https://discord.gg/S37bYma and presented my dilemma to a moderator.

The information I received was to include the ISBN from the back of the book for reference. Nearly perfect! Somewhere in the back of my mind I remember researching ISBN and found ISBN source info

Enter the ISBN into the search bar as the below example indicates.

Here's an Example from my reference library:

(Yeah, It's an old book) Copy just the URL results into your post reference.

It's easy to do, and makes researching, writing and posting even more fun.

Thank you @minnowbooster !
