Well, I have to say this disappoints me greatly, and I think it's a cop out. I hope you like honesty because that's all I can give you.
No one has downvoted your posts. Look:
Here's your Almost Lunch post:
Downvotes are indicated with a minus sign. No minuses.
Here's your Mermaid Corinna and the Whale Shark post:
No downvotes are visible, but there 6 more we can't see, so....
I checked with Steem Haters and here's the result:
You haven't received any downvotes. Not one...from a whale or anyone else for that matter. Your content is actually performing quite well for someone who has only been on Steemit for what? A week and a half? Two weeks?
You received more than a $25 payout on your intro post...that's more than I received on both my accounts combined by many, many times.
With all due respect, my best advice to you is to stop bitching about Steemit and start sharing this "lot" you have "to offer".
As a fellow Xer, I can only assume that you're like me and try to self-sabotage every good thing in your life by over-thinking it.
If you don't like something about Steemit, this is the perfect place to channel your inner Gandhi and be the change you want to see. This leave and come back in 6 months hoping everyone else has fixed the problem is....frankly, a cop out.
You can take this a couple of ways:
- I'm evil and harsh and too blatantly honest. You hate me.
- You are my new friend and I fight fiercely for my friends.
I hope you choose the latter, and I hope you'll stick around, but alas, the decision is yours and you have to want to. You've all but ignored most of my previous comments, so I don't expect a response to this one. I must be come off absolutely insufferable.
There's an unfollow and mute for that. Anyway...for what it's worth, you were on your way to a decent fanbase here. Dont' screw it up.
Thanks for all the time and effort you've put into researching all of this. I appreciate it. No I'm not the self sabotaging kind of person but I don't stick around when my intuition tells me it's not good for me. I don't like this pyramid scheme of giving and the taking away. That feels horrible. I'm sorry I haven't responded to all of your comments. I can't access this at work so I email articles to myself, run into the hallway where I copy and paste into the app. I tried to get to most but I apologize if I haven't answered yours. I appreciate all of your comments. Thank you. As to the payout it dropped from 25 to 18 something at the last minute and I think 5 or so of that went to curators. I don't mind the low payment on things but that a whale has that much power to take away your joy. That takes the wind out of my sails. I'm on Facebook if you want to talk more. I'm leaving this place for now.
I apologize...that was a crap thing to say...or write rather. Talk about high school...or first grade maybe. 😜
Good luck on your journey. May we meet again.
Don't worry about it. You had a lot of valid points and really went out of your way to help. Take care.
Maybe you could re-read her post, as she didn't say anything about receiving down votes. As I understand it, a whale liked her post, then when she posted some interesting thoughts about Steemit in a later post, that whale unliked the earlier one.
It is interesting about Steemit. You see a fairly popular post with 25-30 likes which has about $.50 in reward. Then one more like comes along and it suddenly has $10.50. A whale just graced that post with its benevolence. (In her case, that same whale came back and took away the like for something unrelated to the content). I think her criticism is more about the disproportionate and fickle power of whales to give and to take away.
I, myself, haven't yet posted my first blog entry - I've just been watching. It does seem like just another oligarchy.
I stand corrected.
Steemit is what you make it.
there is no [-] sign ... she wasn't bitchingsee @quietdeluxe I just upvoted your comment and then removed it...
Thanks. I was already set straight on this.
fair enough :)
