Banjir

Sebanyak 12 desa di Kecamatan Matangkuli, Aceh Utara, mulai pukul 04.00 WIB kembali direndam banjir kiriman, akibat meluapnya air Krueng (sungai) Keureutoe yang mengelilingi kecamatan itu. Air sungai meluap setelah hujan deras di Bener Meriah pada mala hari.
Data yang ditemukan dari warga setempat, ini merupakan kalima kalinya dalam tahun ini, kawasan tersebut direjang banjir. Banjir kali ini lebih parah dibanding dengan sebelumnya..
Dari 12 desa yang terendam banjir, ada 4 desa yang terparah dengan ketinggian air 50 cm sampai 1 meter. Banjir tersebut juga menyebabkan aktivitas di Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Matangkuli dan SDN 6 Matangkuli terhenti.
Selain itu, banjir kiriman tersebut juga menyebabkan jalur Hagu-Mee dan Lawang-Alue Tho tak bisa dilintasi roda dua dan empat. Sebab ketinggian di lokasi tertentu mencapai 1 meter, aliran arusnya deras.
