Hey, thanks for commenting. I am actually excited about the possibilities SMTs offer for my meager investment. I am learning more about crypto weekly, and I believe I understand the impact the ERC20 tokens had on the rapid valuation of Ethereum, and envisioning that and perhaps more happening with Steem based on its lower cost/faster speed.
I probably will never get over my aversion to apps. Possible though that I will find my dislike of them to partially be founded in ignorance. But when I think app, I think of something that backdoor spies on one, as well as allowing a backdoor for hackers to use, like with Wordpress. Fakebook app is pretty well known to activate features for spying, and then we had the trading bot apps that got hijacked at Binance not long ago. I could list so many more, but given my ignorance on much of this and seeing these stories so often, I just shy away from them all to play it safe.
I am glad you noticed the comments, and honored you have weighed in. Thank you.
I will probably also check out EOS, but it will not stop my main focus from being here. I noticed my first week here people telling me how much this place sucked, it was a scam, that all the power was mined at the beginning etc, and that EOS was going to come along and make things right. I continue to see this, as well the talk of SMT communities. I may not be seeing this correctly, but if the SMT communities involve me trading my Steem to get some other token (like one does with an Ethereum pair) then those will be communities I will not be a part of. I will be holding onto my Steem and letting those SMT communities drive up the value of my holdings. But I also want to get a feel for who in my circles may bolt for such communities so I can focus my attention on those who plan on remaining here, like myself.
Thank you for the welcome, and I hope as you believe that Steemit and the upcoming EOS can help one another and not devolve into some competition where many are insisting one pick one over the other.
