RE: The Mysterious Steemit Benevolent Whales; who are they, what drives them?

in #steemit6 years ago

A lot of these major whales are simply early investors who made some excellent calls to put themselves in the position they're in now. If they're investing in other things too, they maybe don't have the time or desire to post, but it stands to reason that they would reward people who are positively contributing to this community. After all, their investments will continue to grow as STEEM grows. By doing their part to reward good posters, they're keeping the reward pool circulating to the right kind of people.

Im with you there, the newest account of the three is December 2016, very old for Steem times. Im not really sure how they go about picking and choosing worthy articiles or even comments to vote up though. That is a manual task and is time consuming.

2016 is definately early for steem. I discovered it in 2017 and I am glad I did!
I can tell around 2020 is when many will come in in a rush. We are still early.

I hope you are right. I for one have invested some into the platform and wish I had put more in when it was < $2.
