RE: Who Wants to Be a Steemillionaire?

in #steemit7 years ago

Maybe, maybe... But we have to Watch out for the Steem opponents.
Orkut when appeared also were the biggest social network of the world, then It came Facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc... And you know the rest.

If steemit doesnt evolve over time, It May disappear. There os some questions that we all need to be on the lookout for:

  • Will the SMT apps make steem tokens obsolete? This may happen If the function of the SMT Will be only to launch the New tokens, but after some time, they dont use steem coins on its transactions. Steem coins might become worthless.
  • Will EOS and Cardano build apps for social media on their blockchains? If so, How Will they work?
  • Will steemit be able to retain high quality content producers? What Will be the incentive for that?
  • What Will happen when (If) there is too much people on the platform? Will the coins have less value?
  • What are the long term effects of the inflationary model?

I like steem, but i am not 100% sure yet that It Will survive long term.

I've answered each of those questions on past posts already, and it would be a long speech, but I do believe there are measures being taken for many of those variables.

For example, you get STEEM on your SP holdings that equalizes the inflation, so you always have the same value. If it inflates 15% you get 15% more SP free of charge.

I know, but i am only stating that we should not take steem for granted yet. As an experiment It is really sucessful, but its Future is still uncertain.
There is still a lot of things to come, and steemit Future Will depends on How steemit Inc Will act when the time comes.
Steemit so far have no direct competition, and this Will likely change this year.

Oh I don't take Steem for granted... I'll work on what I can to support the blockchain, after all piece of it belongs to me :)
