8. Steem Price Update
Its good news
steem price almost got back to november zone yesterday . this bounce off was predictable , the BTC price pushed it further . Good news for HODLERS and those who bought the dips
I personally agree and i think the price will still go up. The Steem coin power depends on steemit platform stuff going on, but this year is pretty bad for all cryptos and not even cryptos. Let's hope for the best!
I am more worried that we are stuck around 60,000 users

I think it's still in bear mode, that spike in volume should not hold, unless it was based on some odd metric. Or partnership. It looks like somebody picked up a ton of it. But i am just guessing, however it is nice to see it not moving with the market, and that i think is a good sign.
It has just broken out of the 3 month bear-pattern. Volume has gone up 25x or something like that... Total trade volume in coinmarketcap is only up 25%... I think that now traders will have to look for a new pattern... but if you take into account SMT's I think we will have a positive new pattern...

@oopgamesandhobby All the cryptocurrencies are on the rise, not just Steem. Hopefully, this trend will persist in the long run.
Not like steem is doing right now, most crypto were flat today, 2-3% up or down, steem was around 68% up at one point.

Could be one of those feedback loops that fiat pairs get into when a lot of money starts moving around and some of it aims for the exits, resulting in certain coins looking hot when really it's just money getting ready for a quick pump and drain.
Could be, that's a very wall street like move. And that's going to happen in the market or anyplace money is involved. Make a quick run and dump when you know so many people are near the trigger point. Then they buy a bit higher because they think they missed the bottom. Does not make it a fact yet, but it is a likely scenario.
Looks like the Koreans are buying again. They must have a lot of spare cash. I expect it will fall back a bit, but this is still a nice boost for steem. We need to build on whatever publicity this gets. Steemit needs good press and steady growth
In some point i agree whit you, but i think that steem coin depends on content creators, whales and article readers.
It does need good content to draw people in. It's not just about money as people use other sites for no reward
Yes you are 100% right. But in the beginning is really hard to get followers so people just go whit spaming shitty stuff. I tryed that too, but I understood that is better create good content than go whit spam. Have a great day!

Question is: how many of those are real and how many are spoof accounts, created through API calls ...
What really matters is the number of active users, the number of posts and comments, the Alexa ranking (latter seems to be slipping, not good)

My following is increasing but i rekon half of them are not active. Comments and interactions are from the same people
Yeah I think that a half of them are fake accounts, but 9000 accounts created yesterday and yesterday 46% Steem jump so i think that maybe this caused this big jump. But i believe that Steemit platform will be growing, because It is solving a lot of problems for content creators.

Steemit has a large community in South Korea and this is likely to increase even further with talks of the government creating their own cryptocurrency. Yes that takes away the idea of decentralisation but it shows popularity is increasing!
