We all want to catch a whale with our posts on Steemit.com, don't we? But when is the best time to throw out your fishing rod to catch one of the big fat whales of our Steem community?
This is a follow up post of my post: At what time of the day are the most Steemians online?
All data is based on USA Eastern Time. If you live in Europe you can add 5 hours for Central European Time (CET). I've used the votes made in a 3 week period between April 13 and yesterday, May 4.
1. Only the biggest whales (> 500,000 SP)
For the first chart I've taken all whales into account with 500,000 Steem Power or more. Some of the whales are currently not upvoting because of the "whales-not-voting-experiment" so I left them out of my calculations. Here are the Steem accounts I used for the first chart:

2. All whales (> 250,000 SP)
For the second chart I've added all whale accounts with at least 250,000 Steem Power. Some of these whales only vote with 1% of their voting power. That's fine, but I left these votes out of my calculations, because I don't consider a 1% vote as a whale vote. Here are the whales I've added for the second chart. The whales listed above are included as well.

The best time to post?
I assume most of the whales live in the USA. After having breakfast and brushing their whale teeth they start upvoting between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. If you manage to get out of bed and have your post ready before 9:00 AM (Eastern Time) you have the best chance to catch a whale. Good luck!
This post has been ranked within the top 50 most undervalued posts in the second half of May 05. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $6.00 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.
See the full rankings and details in The Daily Tribune: May 05 - Part II. You can also read about some of our methodology, data analysis and technical details in our initial post.

Do whales sleep in on the weekends?
Good question. I'll figure it out later :)
It can take a long time to brush those whale teeth.
Thank you for this valuable input ☺
Very interesting and useful info for content creators :) I normally dedicate some time post to post and to share it on a more relevant hour is critical, to reach the community, to get feedback and some rewards :) thanks!
