After Mark Zuckeberg outlined in his personal challenges for the year that he would study the positive and negative aspects of cryptocurrency and encryption, people all around the world within the crypto world have been asking themselves if this could culminate on a sort of Facebook token or on a decentralisation of the biggest social media of all times -Facebook.
But, why would Facebook choose decentralisation? It would only take its power off. It would destroy the "empire". The monopoly of information.
Decentralisation means that people will own their information and that they should get paid for it. Means that no one will have the control over others.
Despite all this facts, Zuckeberg seems pretty interested on the topic. Phrases like "I'm looking forward to bringing groups of experts together to discuss and help work through these topics" and "There are important counter-trends to this – like encryption and cryptocurrency – that take power from centralized systems and put it back into people's hands...I'm interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how best to use them in our services." brings the huge posibility of Facebook entering in the cryptocurrency world.
Maybe Facebook is anticipating the competition. Tron announced that they will work on their decentralised Social Media and Steemit is just appearing like a world changing.
**This is why I believe on steemit, steemit gives people the control over their information. You own your information and you get paid for it. Facebook is understanding this power and will be forced to get adapted. **
One thing is correct: day after day blockchain technology gets more and more popular and well known and this is good for investors, this is good for democracy, this is good for justice. This is good for us.
What do you think?
Do you think we will have a Facebook token in the near future?
