Always great to see more females on Steemit! I've been telling my creative friends about Steemit first, letting them know it's a great platform to build an audience as the community is much more engaged here.
Then I've been mentioning the crypto aspect since that idea is foreign to them. I don't want to scare them off with all the crypto talk first. I'm finding this makes people far more receptive to the idea of going Steemit rather than starting off with 'making money blogging!' Which can come across and sound like a scam.
I agree, that's a good strategy! I told her a tiny bit about cryptocurrencies, but I assured her she doesn't need to become an expert in this topic to be here, build an audience and in time, get paid for that :)
