CHAIN WALLETS - AN UNEXPECTED BLESSING DUE TO THE STEEMIT COMMUNITY

in #steemit7 years ago

Sometimes, you never know what'll happen next around here!

Some time back, I mailed a free t-shirt to @frostyamber up in Canada. At that point, I did not think that I would soon be sending her another package. But, because of my location, I was able to bless her family, and today I mailed another package.

DO YOU LIVE NEAR A WAL-MART?

That may sound like a strange question, and we will agree with you. After finishing up our private conversation on steemit.chat about a shipping address for the shirt, another message came to @papa-pepper from @frostyamber.

Hi, I've got a strange question for you...do you live anywhere near a Wal-Mart? I did say it was a strange question.

Although I am kind of off the beaten path out in the Ozarks, I can still make it to a Wal-Mart in about a half hour, so I told her that I did. I had no idea where she was going with this "strange question" but I was intrigued to find out where this was going. Soon, the response came.

Cool. You see my husband loves a particular style of wallet but we can't get it here, only in USA Wal-Marts.

THE GIFT OF CHAIN WALLETS?

Being one who does try to help when I am able, I was soon at a Wal-Mart looking for this particular wallet. At only $9 each, I thought they were a bargain. @Frostyamber requested two of them for her husband, and offered to pay me for my "services."

In the end, I bought three and just shipped them to her for free, as a gift. It is interesting to see things like this going on because of the steemit community. Whether it is being able to already "know" some locals when you travel or being able to acquire things not normally available in your home country, steemit is rapidly becoming an interesting blessing to many.

IN OTHER MAILING NEWS...

For those of you who saw my first STEEM "COMMUNITY" Silver Round Distribution post you already know that only 1500 of these were printed and they sold out very fast. Many steemians never even knew any of this happened.

Just to help bless the community, I have been working to acquire a quantity to distribute to various steemians. Thus far, I have secured 25 out of the 1500 for free community distribution. I still have to open some packages, but i got another package today. Also, I shipped out my first two to other steemians today.

Of my initial 10 for distribution, here is the status of them all:

All of the "community distribution" silver rounds that I secure for that purpose will be delivered free of charge to the recipients. I consider these rounds to be an incredibly precious part of steemit history and wanted to do my part to get them into more hands.

I will be giving some away as I see fit, and running some contests for others. Stay tuned for more on this initiative as I continue.

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Something is wrong here. I just upvoted this post and it actually took away one penny from the total. I noticed this happened on another post I upvoted also.
I like this post and am sorry I detracted from your total @papa-pepper

It has nothing to do with you. The potential post payout is based on an average of the value of STEEM over the past seven days, as this value fluctuates, so do the potential post payouts.

The value of Steemit (a cryptocurrency) compared to US dollars (a fiat currency) goes up and down throughout the day because all over the world, people are constantly trading millions of dollars back and forth.

EXAMPLE
If somebody suddenly sells, say, a billion dollars worth of Bitcoins for a much lower than average price, everybody else will probably have to lower their cryptocurrency selling prices in response.

We minnows don't need to worry about such things.

Beard all disheveled as if struck by an electric shock =))

Oh no! Discheveled!?!??

I wish I can get one... ;)

A wallet, or a silver round?

A silver round.

Your choice - character - blog is simple Amazing - thanks for this kind gift - blog @papa-pepper

Wow, thank you for that!

You are welcome in Macedonian and Serbian community -
How can I get a beautiful silver coin? @papa-pepper

Thank you @jasonmunapasee.

thanks for you also my friend may be healthy and successful always.

bro nice post you ...

great job there..... with both of them.... I wish I had known about the silver but I'm sure something will come along again......Have an awesome day papa....

There should be more minted in the future, I think at least a yearly release.

awww you have such a kind heart @papa-pepper

I try to bless others when I can, that is all.

That's a wonderful deed you did there Papa! and as a gift too!

You know there is probably a trade industry in this somewhere. A buy/sell/trade sort of deal where steemians can request things from one another that are not readily available where they live. I know I would go out of my way to buy something to send to someone in exchange for something unique to their country. Could build an interesting collection of stuff that way.

Will buy something from Nashville and ship for a Steem silver round! hahaha j/k

Have a great one!

Hmmm... what could I use from Nashville...?

hahaha. I can get you a real nice Grand Ole Opry shirt! LOL

That's real community friendly of you papa-pepper. Those silver rounds are beauts. To bad they weren't available to the whole steemit community.

Yeah, only 1500 wouldn't make it around, but next year there may be even more minted.... with some different designs of course.

I would've never guessed they couldn't get those types of wallets up North. My hubby wore one just like that for years and years. In fact, while in college together, that was how I tell he was approaching when he wasn't with me. Classmates would ask me how I knew to turn around and look for him, but I could always hear his chain. ha ha

Very nice! I used to wear one too, but these days I can rarely even find my wallet.

Excellent thanks

i would die for a chain wallet, but am in Africa.........Sad Face

Really? Maybe something could be worked out...

Thats nice bro @papa-pepper can i get one? ☺

Who knew, very nice of you!

Somewhat related, but there is a huge thing with Trader Joe's and Canada. Because Trader Joe's is so popular, yet they don't have any stores in Canada, someone made a store called Pirate Joe's that basically just bought stuff from Trader Joe's and sold them in their own store.
