Yes, I worked really hard the first couple of months to build my followers. i put a lot of time into it, looking back, so I can imagine not everybody is willing to go through those lengths or have time for it. I had luck (or bad luck) in that I was unemployed at the time, so I had plenty of time to spare for this experiment :)
