Why STEEMIT?
Having the privilege to talk to people and introducing them to steemit, I have been faced with this big question in trying to explain to them. Well, like me, when they hear the aspect of the rewards they are eager to know when they will cash out, how they will gain so much from their first post and be convinced that steemit is working, and how they will become financially sufficient in a few weeks from steemit. I have seen someone explain to me what she will be posting about on steemit and after her few posts didn’t receive acknowledgement or reward, she has been away from steemit a while.
For someone like me, the question still begs, Why Steemit?
I am talking about someone who has been in steemit for a while and haven’t got a reasonable amount to cash out or still does so much posting and commenting and still receives little or nothing at the end. I am also talking about those who feel like the system favours only a few and the majority gets nothing or feed the ‘elite’ class.
No matter what class you are, there is something to be learnt. In my face to face contact with people in introducing steemit, they sometimes ask me what evidence I have to show that steemit works and even when my colleagues here me talk about it, they say things like, ‘when you get money from it, then we will join’. As this may sound, it is a real issue. There are many people who have registered in steemit and after a while don’t find pleasure continuing and there are others who want to see to believe.
I am using my next few posts to honestly answer this question as it pertains to me and how I have proposed to answer whoever asks me. I will be discussing seven (7) reasons why steemit, one for each post.
Number 1: STEEMIT IS REAL LIFE
It didn’t take a while to understand that steemit is real life. If you took your time to notice, you will know that this is true about steemit.
- In real life, many people still live below a dollar a day and in steemit, many people still live before a dollar a post, some live without a cent attached to a post. This show like in real life work is not just the solution. People work and get paid, some work and do not get reasonable pay. Why work is great, there is more than makes it rewarding, like communication. How many people have you spoken to, to understand the basis of steemit? The more you ask, the more you know, More!
- Many people complain about the system why a few people work to provide a solution for the problem they are facing. They tend to look for the best solution, and not give the best explanation. The attitude you put towards life, tells on your steemit account. For a fact, steemit will not favour everybody; but why should it not favour you? If you give up easily, you will never know what you stand to gain
- Many people as still unnoticed no matter what they do. Whether they write the best article, many will still be unnoticed and someone with something they call ‘insignificant’ could be earning in hundreds of dollars. Life is not fair and so is steemit; but remember it provide a level playing ground for everyone. Dont you think so? You have to decide how far you are willing to go when you feel like you have reached the end of the road.
- Many people know so much and yet they fill the slide of vulnerability and some know little or nothing and gain so much. Instead of you to wish that the tide turn, turn the tide. There are chances that cant be made unless you do something. If everyone wished for a chance without working for it, this community will not be this prestigious as it is growing into now. Do you feel I am right? Then make your own contribution for a better steemit
- Worthy of note, benevolence still works in steemit when a whale can make a vote on a post and it is entering tens of dollars just as a benevolent gift still change life in the real word. I would have loved to call a few names on this point but i am sure you will find out pretty soon that they will also get drawn to your work when you do the right thing and follow the right path
- The difference between the rich and the poor is largely because of the information they have access to and how they use it. This means also that the difference of the people who make a few or much dollar on a post and the others who make nothing is the information they have access to and how they use it.
- Competition is a part of life. Consciously or unconsciously, you are competing whether you know it or not. Some people participate in competition and win or lose but also never give up while other will not participate in any competition, and if they did and lost, that is the end of their trying.
- Most importantly, Steemit like real life is a community. It is easy to be known in a small community than be known in a great community. Many channels exist where you will be able to make friends and enjoy some few advice and benevolent gifts. If you do live in isolation, it adversely affects you, just as it is in real life. Join a channel of your interest get to meet new people and steem more and creatively. If you havent been in any channel, try and join one and be very active in it...it could be slow, but it is steady.
Hi, @outhori5ed Thank you for your post. I am facing the same kind of questions at the moment as I try with my wife to introduce the Thai community into Steemit. One of the questions coming out most of the time is where the money come from? After explaining to them Steem and Steem dollar some get it and other I have to start all over again and use more pictural ways to explain. It is a huge work to bring peoples inside especially they are not used to crypto currency. But we do it with pleasure because we do believe in the all project. Thank you.
thanks @ricko66 for doing what you do. You see, most of the problem is not theirs but ours. Everytime we use the rewards as the first thing to introduce people to steemit, they want to be sure it is not a ponzi scheme and that they will really make money. The approach we which we introduce steemit will really encourage willing participation, that is why we need to use the right approach. Many people spend many hours on other social media sites without pay, tell them to spend all or half as much as that time on steemit, socializing, then see what happens next.
you guys are doing a great job @ricko66, keep it up. soonest, many people will regret why they didnt join the community the first time they heard about it. just keep doing what you do and in no time you will translate an entire community. thanks alot

I couldn't of said it any better 💪🏼🙌🏼💯
thanks @stackin. you know, meeting people face to face to talk to them about somethings especially steemit expose you to many truth that they will hide behind social media contact. i am sure you will enjoy this series and i hope to make it a basic of introducing steemit to people. They need to understand first of all that steemit is real life and follow it that way. i greatly appreciate. thanks
Well said. People only interested in cashing out and not contributing to the platform can not be successfull
i think most of us fail in our approach of introducing steemit to them and they are focus on the rewards alone and not the joy of being in a community. for example, people spend many how on facebook from where they get nothing from and when it comes to steemit, they give less time and want to gain more... we need to make people understand that steemit is a process. things grow with time...
