RE: Alright, I get it, Stop - Using - Bidbots

in #steemit5 years ago

You mention the usage of bid bots to beat the curve but you forget that by you using them you are pushing everyone not using them further down the curve while that bid bot now doesn't feel the need to curate after it sold a vote. Not to mention these bots will also attempt to curate a post past the curve as that means they'll receive higher curation because of it too.

alright that's a good point. Thanks, for pointing it out! Definitely interesting to watch how all of this is evolving. I really feel steemit is more like a social experiment, making us aware of our behavior and how we can change it.

Actually, I am saying this in sense of few informations and contest that essentially need popularity.

I think you can use the official promotion service? But like I said, I have never used it and I think it might be changing in a future HF too

If you want to promote something it should cost, since bid bot owners don't sell promotion at a cost you can do so by sending part of the beneficiaries to @null or @steem.dao when purchasing votes. (also mention that in the post so people don't miss it when they decide to downvote based on you using bid bots, no guarantees that they won't either way, though)

okay, thanks for the input
