Your point is valid. We should have stake in EOS, but not to deny what is rightful.
What I feel is eventually steemit will get replaced with something better and we should participate in EOS (trade, learn to code, be in forums) to ensure that when the time comes, we transition in rather than break out.
I hope I am sounding sane when I say this... steemit is still in beta mode!
Steemit's value is in it's utility and the people it has attracted. It's utility can be challenged any time now with all the open-source software available. I still think it would be very difficult. It is the Steemians that are more precious and the connections and value we have created together. I would hope we can preserve that whilst migrating into EOS if that makes sense.
