I personally thought i was the only experiencing slow speeds on steemit but it seems everyone does. Here's a comparison of loading speeds to other social networking sites
Steemit loads very slow at 4.095 seconds, 89% of sites are faster.
Facebook loads at 3.12 seconds ,80% of sites are faster
Twitter loads at 2.45 seconds, 69% of sites are faster
Snapchat loads at 2.496 seconds,70% of sites are faster
Instagram loads at 2.226 seconds, 64% of sites are faster
A study titled “Why web performance matters: is your site driving customers away?” by Gomez, revealed that an online visitor expects a webpage to load in two seconds or less – and after three to five seconds, as many as 40 % of them abandon a site
Website load times are affected by Heavy Image size, Bad server configuration, More use of JS and CSS files, Extra themes, plugins, and comments, Excessive usage of social media scripts
Could slow speeds be because of the blockchain ? Can these speeds be improved ?
