I first learned of Steemit.com yesterday when reading one of the articles:

I applied yesterday and was informed that it was going to take several days before I would be able to open my account.
I was very happy to see a friendly email from Steemit.com which informed me that my account was verified (received the email 7 hours after confirming my email).
Lower expectations and Over deliver :) - this is highly appreciated.
Will try to record my use of steemit (depending on my schedule).
