RE: You're new you're struggling and I want upvotes so bad for you but you are doing it wrong!

I've only been on Steemit for a day and what you've said rings true. Anyone contributing content needs to make the content valuable - or at least to the audience for which it was intended. I write about travel predominantly and throw in the odd bit of vegan discussion. If this doesn't appeal to a particular reader, then they weren't the intended audience. I don't beat myself up over it.

I'm actually really happy with what this site has the potential to bring. For me, I'm just looking for an audience to read my work and while their is undoubtedly the allure of payment, I was never going to get that with my blog and I shouldn't be expecting it elsewhere without a lot of hard work and perseverance.

I very much appreciate the effort in this post - it's useful and newbies will appreciate it, too.

Cheers,
Nick
