I totally agree with you. When people go around mindlessly buying high-end cars they stupidly overlook the basic factors.
A high-end car is a high maintenance toy. It will forever eat into your pocket. An expensive brand car needs good roads and open speed limits.
You need an environment of good driving ethics. Otherwise one scratch or dent can create a massive hole in your pocket....
In my opinion High-end expensive cars are useless if you are not living in Beverly Hills or some High-end place with money to throw.
Also, all machines have a life that deteriorates and a price value that depreciates.
Much better to invest where money grows. Like in Steem and cryptocurrency as you say.

Generally, a high-end car is not an investment. I would buy a high-end car because I love cars and I love the experience (but you won't see me buying a Rolls-Royce, I prefer something that I can take to a racetrack. Also I don't care for the places like Beverly Hills, in places like that it's more of a genitalia-size contest lol).
No debate , No argument stands in front of love. :) Yes buying a high-end car is more a matter of passion . Or a matter of "genitalia size contest" :D :D . I like this simile. :D . In such matters, practicality takes a back seat. And for this I must be super rich. :)
My point is - Time, space, environment and object must correlate for best service and results :)
You bring up a very important point, just maintaining the car is gonna eat your money, so it's not a good investment ! Steemit on the other hand I think can only go higher from here !
:) Yes. All machines and vehicles not only require maintenance but also their functions deteriorate with time. Hence the value depreciates. For love one can go to any lengths . :) But practicality says it is foolish to make an excessively high investment on a high maintenance and depreciating object just for flash ! After all what will I do with a mansion if I have no money to buy the furniture for it :D .
Wealth distribution and Financial management advises one to spend a little on desires, some on security and a little for growth. And Steemit is one of the lucrative opportunities for growth . :)
