The use of a paid upvoting bots is one of Steemit's most controversial issues. Is it appropriate to use an upvote bot? What should we pay attention to when using bots? Does the use of upvote bots lead to unfair competition among writers? In this article I would like to discuss the answers to these questions and offer practical advice to use bots in an appropriate and profitable manner.
Steemit works based on manuel voting by those who have the high Steem power in theory. Those with high Steem power earn curation reward for their votes, and those who produce content earn author reward. Again, according to the theory, those with high Steem power choose and vote high quality content, while earning curation reward and maintaining quality content. But this is not how Steemit works in practice. Of course, there are idealistic Steemians who are willing to use most of their Steem power to vote for the quality content, and who are satisfied with the curation reward they have achieved. However, the game is largely spinning through paid voting bots.
In this article, I will not specifically focus on why paid bot use is important. It is explained in detail in the following article.
5 Advantages of Using Paid Upvote Bots
There are Steemians who advocate the use of bots as opposed to the basics, as well as advocates that the work should be done appropriately. The rules for the proper use of bots from my perspective are as follows.
- Do Not Use Upvote Bots For Poor Quality Content
Quality content is very difficult to define. However, the average Steemit user can easily assess which content is of good quality. The criteria can be expressed such as how original and comprehensive the content is, whether the format is correct or not, whether it is supported with visuals or not. Poor quality content gets a lot of negative votes when it comes to bot usage. It is not possible to enter the white list of promotional services such as minnowbooster and smartsteem with poor content quality.
- Do No Use Upvote Bots for Stolen or Spam Content
While sharing stolen or spam content is bad enough, it is unacceptable to use upvote bots for such content. This leads to your acoount to be added to the blacklist of upvote bots.
- Do Not Use Upvote Bots For Old Content
The bots need to be used to promote the content. Some Steemians use bots for content older than 3.5 days just to get a higher share of the reward pool. This kind of use is not welcome. I try to use bots on my posts at most 24 hours after the release of the content.
- Do Not Use of Bots For Profit Excessively
The excessive use of bots for the purpose of profit for mediocre content is another situation that is not welcome. Promotional services have set the upper limits of to prevent this kind of usage. Only those on the white list can be upvoted within higher limits.
It's not easy to use a bot. First, you should have capital in STEEM or SBD. Using a bot requires considerable knowledge. To follow the bots and use them with a proper selection and timing, you also need to spend a serious effort.
Tips For Profitable Bot Use
The upvote bots are divided into three categories: promotion boots, bid bots and other bots. Promotional bot's returns range from 10% to 15% and offer guaranteed returns. The disadvantages are that you can't use them for high amounts, and especially when Steem is on the rising trend, it is difficult find a quota. Using bid bots you can vote relatively high, but you are likely to lose money.
1. Take Time To Learn About The Bots
It is the first condition for success to have mastered the dynamics of the bots with all the details. I would recommend you to review https://steembottracker.com/ , https://www.minnowbooster.net and https://smartsteem.com sites in detail in this context.
2. Experiment With Minimum Amounts
It is necessary to spend a lot of effort in order to learn that the use of bots. The best way to learn is to practice a variety of bots in small amounts, to find the optimal strategy that works for you.
3. Watch Our For Timing
The demand for bots is lower at certain times of the day. It will be in your favor to use the bot at these time frames. Next vote: Shows how much time after the auction will result. It is the most rational choice to use bots that are close to the result and have high Max Suggested Bids.
6. You Need to Know Bid-Based Bots Well
According to the criteria explained above, it is important to choose the appropriate boat. I don't use certain bots because they vote for posts that have a history of more than 3.5 days, and I don't use promobot because I don't understand how it calculates the return rate. My general preference is not to use bots with a minimum age of 0. These bots can be damaged due to the last-minute exhaustive offers.
7. Follow The Terms Of The Bid Based Bots
The conditions offered by the bid based bots to the users are changing over time. - Kar amaçlı olarak aşırı bot kullanımı
Vasat içerikler için kar amaçlı olarak aşırı bot kullanımı hoş karşılanmayan diğer bir durum. Promosyon servisleri bunu önlemek için promosyon servisleri kullanım üst limitleri belirlemiş durumda. Sadece beyaz listede yer alanlar daha yüksek limitler dahilinde oy kullanabiliyorlar.

Bid bots nowadays are not that profitable and most of the articles trending page were using bid bots. Some of our fellow steemians used bots in a losing bid - imagine, the bots only have 20 dollars maximum vote but he bids it with 15 SBD, LOL.
Bid bots give both positive and negative impact on steemit community it is just on how we see it. But somehow, those empty articles appeared on the trending page due to bid bots. But in some way, bots also beneficial to us esp to those minnows who needs more exposure. We just need to have guidelines or standard on where and when the bots to vote or decline every bid. But the problem is how to determine the quality of the post.
You dont determine it yourself. It doesnt matter what the "objective" (if there is such a thing) quality of the post is as long as you let the community decide what they want to see.
Bots take away that chance completely.
