WHO ARE THE FOLLOW-SCAMMERS?
As you may know, there is an online scam that I'd like to refer to as FOLLOW SCAMMERS. They follow random people and demand or expect follow-backs to gain a lot of followers. Then they will unfollow all of them, and will pretend to be some celebrity who has lots of followers! This type of scam has been happening on steemit as well.
I just made a tool today that will tell you who's not following you back with only a click of a button! This can be a very useful tool in order to avoid the FOLLOW SCAM. But of course, I personally do not advise follow for follow-backs. I want real and genuine followers. Not someone who follows me for a follow-back!
Generally speaking, I'm not going to follow anyone unless I'm really interested in their content or I know them personally. I mean, I did follow strangers at first and it was a mistake. Today with the help of this tool, I found out that most of them have unfollowed me which is fine, because now I'm going to unfollow them too! LOL :]]]
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's pretty simple actually! You just need to open the tool on your browser by clicking HERE. Then you need to enter your username and click on GO!

Just a question here. How des this algo work? Does it just check the difference between followers and following and then highlight it? I think I am follow far too many people. But some people who I really like, they don't follow me, but their content is so good I don't mind. Just checking... .................................................. ............................... ;)

Maybe I should a create tool for #teamaustralia by which we can follow everyone who's being followed by @teamaustralia with a click of a button!?
it is up to you...the idea is quite good i reckon...i like it....but i dont know how long its gonna take you to do it?have you got time? etc etc...
if you want to play around....go for for it mate....im not holding you back...lol...
it would probably take 10 years for me to make something like that

You do realize that there is also an app you can use that will tell you who follows, AND unfollows you. Pretty sure there is one for who likes your posts, as well as notifications for comments and what not.
Which app is it? Does it tell you who has unfollowed you in the past?
I don't know, as I don't use apps like that because I could care less about followers and following people and all that... I post what I want when I want and if people follow me then cool. I follow people I connect with and enjoy reading their posts.

Thanks for the info. I generally am not worried if folks don't follow me back. I have got an influx of followers lately. Like you I follow if 1) the content is good or 2) If I have developed a true friendship with certain folks. I believe there are scammers out there and so far have not had one. I try to write real comments and take interest in my feeds and many of those I follow. Thanks for the informative post. As always keep posting. - Troy

I have only seen one celeb on here so far. There may be many I have not discovered I am sure. I understand your point. For myself followers will come when they are meant to come in my life. Great tool! Thanks for adding the importance of building a group of genuinely interested followers and not going for the follow-for-follow game. If you unfollow someone, does it show up anywhere on their feed, or does it notify them?
Unfollowing leaves a record in history which can be checked. Not sure if there is an app that would notify them or not but it's possible to write an app for it! :]
Thanks! How have you learned all this, and you started the same month as I did? I am assuming by the fact you created this app that you have programming background, which I guess would help learn all the ins and outs of Steemit.

Nice! I don't care much if people don't follow me back. I don't do the follower for follower thing anyway, so most people I follow actually write stuff I care about (or they're nice people to chat with). It is a nice tool to clean up my list though. I'm now checking everyone on it to see if they still write articles I find enjoyable. Makes me rediscover some interesting things, but it also makes me discover a few dead accounts and a few people who just resteem a whole bunch of crap that I don't need on my feed :-)

scammers are everywhere, from this, to cash exchange, the scammer gives fake cash in exchange for REAL cash, same value...
anything can happen, and exposing scams are some of the most important things.

I just found this post. It is going to save me so much time, I was just starting to go through all of my FOLLOWING to see who wasn't following me back, it was already tedious. So I am glad I took the time to search for this solution. You were the first result on google, congrats!

This is great! I was wondering if there was a tool like this some-where! Thank you for doing all this work. You definitely deserve a follow. I don't mind if a person doesn't follow me back if my feed doesn't relate to theirs and they are using for possibly business or what ever. But when people follow just to collect followers I find that dishonest and disrespectful.
