RE: What should I blog about on Steemit ?

in #steemit7 years ago

So totally on the mark.

I have to admit I came here for the money. And I was gonna write about cryptocurrencies. Which I actually know a bit about having been a financial writer for the past 7 years.

But you know what? Once I got here I ran into this 5 minute freewrite challenge. And for some reason - who even knows why, certainly not me - I was compelled to take part. That's the first fiction I'd written in over 30 years. And it was fun!

So, goodbye crypto (well I may touch on it here and there) and hello fiction writing. I wasted over 30 years, and now it's time to hone my craft and have fun with it.

And that's what I'll be blogging about here, and what Steemit means to me. Fun and in some sense rebirth because here you actually can get paid to do what you love - granted you still have to work at it, but it doesn't FEEL like work.

Sort:

For some reason , Steemit brings out the artistic nature of many people.
And you know what, maybe this could be the "job" of the future since all the other jobs will be taken over by AI.
That could be something to explore in your futuristic series.#justsaying ...
Many don't realize or want to realize how much work it is. Writing posts, replying to (all) comments , being active here. But it's fun and rewarding ... In many ways.
Steem on.

The arts used to be prized more than they are today in some cultures (or so history would have us believe). Perhaps we're seeing the dawning of a new renaissance era. And yes, it is extremely time consuming if done properly. But oh so rewarding if you have the mindset.
