This is all assuming that you don't own a external account like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, ect. with a massive following.
1-Find a theme or main topic for your account.
At the start of your young Steemit career; it will most likely be rough (unless you have a background in writing). The topic should be something you're passionate about! Usually that means it will be easier for you to write and get good content on the feeds. Another reason why is because you will attract people that have the same passion as you do.
2-Connect with similar accounts and their followers.
One thing to keep straight though is not to spam! Your account could end up getting flagged and maybe even shut down by Steemit themselves. Whenever you find a post that you think is interesting or thought was good you should upvote or leave a comment.
3-Post as much as you can and have fun.
In the end, it's your account meaning that you could do whatever you want and whenever you want. The more fun you have, the more people will come. When you're doing things you're passionate about it will be so fun that a hobby might be formed!
4- Everyone is nervous or downright terrified of putting themselves out there, but that's a part of like. Honesty will get you further on Steemit than deception ever will-and if you are considered deceitful, your blog will most likely tank. (@backwardsroving)
