Hi all. I am new on steemit, and this is my first post.
Cryptocurrencies can be hard to understand, even for a technical guy like me, that have been working as a ful stack developer for more than 17 years.
From my understanding, steemit uses the blockchain technology (a distributed database) to create a social network/blogging platform. Now what i don't get it, who owns the steemit.com domain? Who runs the hosted version? Who pays for the servers and all that stuff. I can see that images are hosted on amazon, so my guess is that everything is running there.
If any of you have a cler view, of all the steemit stack, please help me clear my mind, and understand it better.
P.s what opportunities does a new platform like steemit offer to devs?
