RE: Where does all the money come from on Steemit fully answered -- Can it continue? -- Absolutely yes!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

I have some analysis from a different angle on my blog, I am seeing way too many fake accounts and shill/sybil upvote operations and far too little actual content. As in, for every 10k haejin cashes out, he has provided next to 0 value to the world, especially with the knowledge that his investment strategy is less successful than coin tosses.

I dare anyone to find someone else who has posted as much value as I have to the chain, I have earned around $1000 in steem, I see so many accounts that are worthless who make more than that in a week.

There has to be a better way. If "people" who bought 10k SP with 100 dollars at the end of 2016 can rule steemit with sybil tactics, then something else has to be devised. So many fake/sketchy accounts, just look at who some of the upvoters of my posts, I can't figure out why they came to my blog at all with their 1 week old accounts.

You are so very correct. Since writing this article, I have become so much more aware of these issues and the destructive potential they pose. I am currently at a loss on how steemit can internally provide a solution to this. Voting and policing for all practical purposes will remain in the hands of the people that profit most by the current paradigm. I do not see any easy solutions.

I have since created multiple posts with in your face promotions to highlight these issues, but they have no long term value. It is possible that EOS and any platform built on it may offer the final solution. Today, I'm going to keep fighting to try to clean up our house. I am producing tag spam reports and bid bot usage reports to try to combat what I can.

If steemit continues to grow (as I believe it certainly will), business entities will flock to it. They will have the capability to power up regardless of the market price of steem and then once invested, insure their investment maintains value. I can easily see them spawning cleaners to help maintain the quality. Of course, this just means the content will have even more advertisement.

If money can buy power; it will.

Thank you @mindhawk for the thoughtful reply!

advertisement ruins everything, corporations will do to steemit what they did to reddit.

an advertising based model has no interest in cleaning out fake/shill accounts as they need the high numbers to justify spends and drive up the price of the spam services they sell and the spam content they create.

then once the police state gets involved, anyone who posts anything that is not wanted will see it silo'd.

i now believe that the purpose of most of this is to prevent any individual from having anything go viral. Everything must be controlled, predicted ahead of time.

Such is the nature of a pyramid shaped organization, which ours is. So if you are to resist this, you have to jam these methods or you are simply enforcing it, and not even being compensated for it.

Which is really the sad thing, the spammers are making a lot of bank off of steemit right now.

I asked @stan directly about it, he was evasive. He has, of course, lockheed martin in his background so unfortunately has to be under at least some suspicion as does eos.

Will follow, plz check out my privacy workshop thx.

You are preaching to the choir. I do not the know the solution and I have enough invested that it concerns me. Currently I plan to invest more and hope to use that influence to educate. I am an optimist at heart, but there is a reality you have clearly articulated that are at odds with each other.

Yes, I saw your blog, I have already followed you, thanks also for doing the same!

Cool!

Just fished #8, this took a lot of time and I am pretty pretty drained i need a break now lol.
