Tents, dolphins and whales
!
It doesn't matter if it has crossed anyone's mind:" Who will be Steemit's mighty ones?
Why are some users' votes worth more? Well, it goes more or less like this: Most of us in this social network are looking for the monetary rewards that they offer us for the content post is Steem Dollars (SBD) and we forget that what makes us grow in the social network is Steem Power (SP).
Steem Power is Steemit's actions, the more a person possesses these "actions" the more weight and benefits they will have in the community. SP can be purchased in 2 ways: by creating quality content or by purchasing it in a process called Power Up which is immediately credited.
For most of us the SP is negligible and one vote does not achieve a great effect on a publication, this is because in comparison to users with large numbers of SP our vote is not worth much but imagine a large group of people voting in the same publication rather like a shoal against a whale, because of this analogy - I guess I - the following hierarchy is born which goes from minor to major respectively
Tent (Novice users): In this hierarchical step we are the majority of steemit users those with no more than 500 of SP that by having our voting power at 100% our vote can be worth 0.13 at best. These users are part of an immense list of users the number should already be approaching registered users some will be active and others will not but all share the same feature a very low SP level and little reputation within the community.
Dolphins (Experienced users): This kind of users already usually know most of the tricks in steemit, usually are active and their SP can reach 100000 or more giving them levels of votes from 5 to high numbers such as 26 and 30 SBD per Upvote in a publication, depending on the voting power at that time of the day according to @SteemBoard these users represent about 1200 registered users on the social network currently.
Ballenas(Lead users): This class of users in most cases have long time to have registered in the community or have invested large sums of money and time in it, have moved influences created movements, are a real burdensome social network the sum of SBD and SP of this user step is higher than the sum of all users mentioned above.Their numbers may seem absurd to an average user to have 5 zeros in their SP levels and make transactions of the same number of numbers in SBD.When a user of these votes in a publication is perceived instantly, that is to say with only 1 vote they can make the day to an ordinary user and followed by a vote of these users your post will have an unusual level of prestige in your publication making other users who see your post encourage you to give you more votes.
These "whales" are the ones that have the widest bandwidth to move and in the social network and their opinions can echo in the whole Steem environment.
In a way this hierarchy is not very different from other social networks, there will always be people with more influence than the rest of the user conglomerate is like the real world.
I am a carp that just begins to swim and not much about Steemit yet, any contribution or comment will be well received, this information I consider to be a little superficial, but later we will go deepening in the sea of Steemit.
