RE: How Do Steemit Followers Compare to YouTube and Instagram Followers?

in #steemit6 years ago

Interesting, never thought about the difference or, lets say, “value” of a follower on steemit vs the more established platforms. I did notice the high level of interaction here. I also feel some sort of responsibility to interact with followers. I guess the fact that you get rewarded on steemit so directly (Voting) is the drive behind all this. It also keeps trolls away, which I hope will stay this way!

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more of your content!

Thanks for stopping by and adding to the conversation @michelmake! Fewer trolls is one of my favorite parts about being here. I think the ability to downvote with monetary consequence really helps keep them at bay.

You are totally right that there is a different level of expectation around interacting with followers here. On YT or FB, it is pretty common to not reply to comments - but here that would almost be considered rude. LOL

At a minimum, it wouldn't be smart to ignore comments. Interacting and responding to people in the comments is definitely one of the best ways to build your community here. :)
