Hi, I am new to this platform but eversince I created my account there is an issue that keeps bothering me. Here is a picture that addresses the problem.
One of the so many examples on the site
Why is it possible that a post with only 29 views (probably even less since the creator checked it multiple times) to have over a 100 upvotes? Isn't the whole point of steemit to share quality content instead of people just upvoting your post without even reading it. They probably see that your account has a good reputation (in this example 50), and upvote the post in the hope to gain some steem.
Shouldn't it be more logical to only be able to upvote the post after reading this? After reading the post you are able to conclude if the post is of high quality and worthy of your upvote.
Another origin of the problem is the automatic upvotes (https://steemvoter.com/). I know some people want to help there favorite creator, but other people group with others (who even have multiple accounts) to automatically upvote every post. I have seen some posts who automatically have 60+ upvotes the second the crappy post is online. Most upvotes are only worth $0.01 or less, but still... .
I think most new people who create an account are too focussed in creating money, hereby they dont read the post and only upvote posts which earn a lot of steem dollars so they can get their curation award. Or they create posts of low quality in the hope to make some fast money.
Steemit has to change from a 'make here money' attitude to 'enjoy some quality content here'.
By doing this a lot of people will stay using the site because they enjoy it instead of stop using it because they dont make any money.
!Ofcourse this is not applicable to everyone!
Thank you for reading my post
