If we reflect on our childhood, most of us will remember ourselves being happy and hopeful. The world seemed at our finger tips and anything we imagined seemed possible. No one could tell us otherwise. But somehow, as time progressed life threw at us some challenges and curve balls. Some of which we dodged and some of which left us bleeding out on the field.
Even with all of those challenges, mistakes, failures and loses we still get to choose each day who we want to be. We can be bitter, vengeful and passive or we can be happy, strong and hopeful. In fact, we might have more reasons to be bitter than we do to be happy. Our bitterness might be more easily justified than our happiness. But take time to consider the amount of energy it takes to be this way. It is mentally exhausting. Let’s face it, no one wants to be around someone who is always bringing down the energy in the room.
So how do you change your attitude?
Simple, you decide to have a better one. If you find yourself in the middle of a negative thought speak to yourself immediately by saying “hey, I’m choosing to be a Tigger today”. No one or nothing is bringing me down.
Surround yourself by a streak of Tiggers. If you are around people who are winning, that’s going to rub off on you too. Even if you feel like you are wounded and have nothing to offer, try to be around people who are positive and energetic. This type of energy will not only lift you up, it will also encourage you.
We should always be hopeful.
We should always expect the best for ourselves and others.
