[KEYWORD RESEARCH] - WHAT KEYWORD RESEARCH IS; HOW TO GET MORE POST VISIBILITY, GAIN MORE FOLLOWERS, AND GET MORE REWARD.

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

In one of my recent post (WHO ELSE WANTS MORE FOLLOWERS AND REWARDS? - FOLLOW THIS GUIDE ON PROMOTING STEEMIT ON FACEBOOK GROUPS) where I published a working guide on how Steemians can use Facebook Group to promote Steemit without getting into Facebook jail for spammers.

One comment on that post opens my eyes to what is possible when you use the right keyword around your post.

In his comment, @ackza told me he found my profile through Google image search. He ended up upvoting two of my posts and followed me for more upvotes on my future posts.

I have been marketing actively on the Internet since 2009 when I first registered at Warrior Forum (the world most visited Internet Marketing Forum - https://www.warriorforum.com).

In the Internet Marketing world, there is this popular saying:

Content Is King While Keyword Is The Queen.

What that means is your content plus the right keyword will give you the Search Engine domination power to get more visibility on your content.

In my Steemit post today, I will be showing Steemians how to carry out proper keyword research coupled with your well-researched content to dominate the search engines to bring more search visitors to Steemit.

Steemit will get more users that will invest both cash and content on the platform for STEEM & SBD Price growth; you will get more visibility for your posts, more followers, and more reward.

THE KEYWORD RESEARCH GUIDE FOR STEEMIANS

In this guide, I am going to assume I want to write about poverty in Africa. Therefore my main keyword is Poverty In Africa.

Step One: Get More Seed Keywords From Your Main Keyword

You will need to go to Google - https://google.com. Type your main keyword into the search box. You will have other related keywords shown in a drop down.

See the screenshot below

To get more seed keywords, use the other search tabs (images, news, videos, and books).

Go to each tab and enter your main keyword, you will get a drop down with more related keywords to your main keyword used by people for their searches.

Please write all those keywords from the drop down into a notepad. You will need it for the next step.

Step Two: How To Choose The Right Keyword From All The Keywords.

Once you have carried out the task of finding the seed keywords as specified in step one, you should have more than one keyword and may not know the one to choose for your post.

To get the right keyword to use, we will use a Google tool that will give you more data on each of the keywords, so you can make the right choice.

Go to the Google Keyword Planner tool here https://adwords.google.com/home/tools/keyword-planner/

Log in with your Google account details; if your login is successful, the page will redirect to the tool's main page.

Click on "Get search volume data and trends" drop menu to access the tool to get stats about all your keywords.

Enter all the keywords in option 1, then use option 2 if you want to tweak the data more, though I recommend you leave it to the default settings.

Click the Get Search Volume button to see the data that you need. See the image below for example

I always go for keywords with high average monthly searches and low competition.

Keywords like that are easy to rank for on the SERP with the present SEO muscle of Steemit.com. Post published on steemit.com get high ranking in SERP without backlinks.

More reasons why many of the posts on steemit.com are showing up on page one of Google.

Step Three: How To Use Your Winning Keyword

Now that you have chosen a keyword from your research; it has no good if you can't use it in your post. I will quickly touch on that.

  • Use the keyword in your post title, the title shows in the SERP. It is important as searchers click on links that have their search terms in the title.
  • Use the main keyword more than twice in the body of your post. Google might pick up a sentence around the keyword to use on their SERP which will result in more click on your link.
  • Use the keyword as the file name for your image so Google search can pick that up and rank it high for more visibility.

CONCLUSION

SEO for steemit is a must for the growth of the platform, you can use this guide has a map to doing SEO right for your posts.
