Third party steem applications like busy.org, utopian.io and other, but also steemauto or streemian require the permission to post or vote "in your name". For that you have to provide your owner key once via steemconnect to grant this right to the steem application:
Each change triggers a update_account_data
operation on the blockchain:
The list of currently authorized apps is visible for example via steemd.com:
However, not all applications provide a way to revoke this permission again.
This is where you can use steemconnect:
- go to https://v2.steemconnect.com/login and enter your credentials
- this brings you to the dashboard:
go to "authorized apps" to see the list of your authorized apps:
now click "Revoke" for the permission you want to be revoked
You may be asked once again for your password and see a confirmation afterwards:
checking back on steemd, you can now see another
update_account_data
operation and the selected permission is gone:
This does not seem to work anymore, how do I revoke access now? Have you tried lately? I am on safari and also I tried on the new desktop app, but no luck.
Same problem here, still seems to be the case.
I’ve been using Steemconnect on Musing and dLike... however today upon trying to login, it doesn’t offer the option to click my usual account, but it starting from scratch asking for my username and key - which has never happened since I first input it months ago...
Explanation?
Wondering if this is anything to be concerned about, if there has been an app-wise reset, this is normal, etc...
any idea what the deal is?
yes, this is a new feature to annoy all these suckers that vote nothing but their own comments
🦄
Can’t quite tell whether you’re merely throwing shade or serious... pretty lame either way... lol
For real: this type of narcissistically-altruistic judgementality is the kind of attitude in this community that makes me want to sell all my Steem and let this place burn to the ground.
After two years of producing exceptional quality content, receiving immense amounts of appreciative feedback for both the writing and life-changing support I’ve given others for months in the third-world through my votes, what do I get…? Being called a “sucker.”
As though I don’t have the right to choose how to use the Steem Power I’VE EARNED through serving the community.
As though details don’t matter - that after over a year of giving all my voting power to give back, a decision to ensure my bills are paid first during a recession is somehow unjustified and worthy of condemnation.
Such fucking arrogance displayed so casually slowly & steadily withers away what faith I have left in this platform - no appreciation or credit given where due, only premature, short-sighted, self-righteous bullshit.
Look, @rok-sivante, I don't think I have to explain that to you, but Steem gives you the amazing opportunity to reward the best content creators with 10x 100% upvotes per day, for free! It doesn't cost you anything! This is a considerable amount with your stake. It is your stake and you can do whatever you want with it. You decided to reward nobody but yourself. Still you come here, on a 1.5 year old post, asking for help from me and the community and expect a serious and helpful answer? Or did you broadly ask around on posts that nobody is ever going to find again anyway to get your 10 comments per day to vote?
Sure, the recession, keep hearing that forever... what a great idea to grow the number of your own tokens instead of trying to grow their value... Poor you if you have to pay your bills with that, but that's your problem, not mine or the community's.
But I think there is hope! You have edited your initial reply 4 times and couldn't let go without explaining yourself in this comment. Looking forward to see you back supporting Steem and others.
In case you missed it, this one was dedicated to you:
The Leeches Of Steemit
And before you even think of pulling out some self-righteous defensive comeback, let it be 100% clear:
While you might not like nor agree with how I exercise my free right of choice as to how to utilize the Steem Power I’ve earned, the rewards I’m in a position to give myself are for valued content contributed to this community.
On the other hand, the rewards you take, you skim off the value others create - like a fucking parasite.
Or like a fucking STD... every time I whip out my dick to impregnate this blockchain with something to make people laugh or think, I look down to find “lolicorn” clinging onto my trail like a bad case of herpes picked up from a non-consensual rape.
Don’t bother trying to defend yourself. Face lost cannot be saved. And I don’t speak parasite. (Nor does Google Translate have it.)
Some day when you cash out your Steem you earned off my work, you can look back and rejoice at your victory with the soul-eroding awareness your cleverness at working the system enabled you to profit the fraction of penny at someone else’s expense without actually creating any content yourself - after self-righteously trying to preach about how awesome this place is with its ability to reward content creators.
Thank you for providing a direct example of what “the elite” mean by the “useless eaters” they feel deserve to be depopulated. Now I get it.
Enjoy your crumbs from my table, you fake, dick-riding, charity-case vermin...
(And if you have any shred of self-respect left, you’d be wise to remove my account from your auto-voter botS immediately.)
CORRECT.
Thanks for the enlightening insight... after having arrived 2.5 years ago, before payouts even began, after rewarding authors with thousands of dollars worth of rewards.
Clearly you never attended Economics 101 and/grasped the concept of opportunity cost.
You clearly didn’t do your homework well enough to figure out it’s my comment on Musing I upvote, typically not ones from Steemit - though thanks for wasting both our time and energy with your manipulative question rather than using your brainpower to answer it yourself.
Somehow I doubt that... seems evident your enthusiasm is only sparked with a confirmation of your ideals being exemplified.
You can take your judgement and shove it up your ass on the tip of that corn. I’ll be supporting others as I always have here - when the genuine inspiration arises, not because some self-righteous ficticious cunts whose leading-by-example is basic, dumb memes attempt to manipulatively guilt-trip me into it. And if you haven’t figured it out yet... staying invested in Steem and continuing to create content is supporting Steem. (And just because I don’t upvote your snarky-ass comments doesn’t mean I don’t others’ when I find them to be valuable... another fact you missed in your homework.)
PLEASE REMOVE MY ACCOUNT FROM YOUR AUTO-VOTING BOT IMMEDIATELY.
(Also from the @elviento, @fbook and @igram accounts if those are yours too.)
Thank you for posting this. A lot of people will be looking to get out of the Drug Wars ponzi scheme soon using this method.
