There will be more of these as STEEM price dumps closer to 0.01$ and lower. And also not everyone is announcing it publicly. Personally, I have signals from people who are stopping or slowing down their activity until STEEM price is at least doubled so it's already happening at some level. I expect Steem whales have about three months to bring needed changes before loosing major support from community.
