Thank you @reko for being you. The short time I have known you, you have taught me so much.

I'm always confused about self voting. In my earlier weeks here I read it was perfectly good to always give your posts an upvote but then in Discord I see people discuss that they think thats not ok. Maybe it just depends? I usually wait until my posts are getting close to the 5 - 6 days old mark before I upvote them myself. If i feel like they got enough votes or whatever I might just let it be, but with those ones that need just a little extra help why not? but my votes are only a penny right now anyways! I can see how it might cause more resentment when a dolphin or whale does it, since their votes are worth so much to a minnow's development.. so I do agree with you!

Yeah I feel like people have different opinions all the time about it, some whales are totally against it and some are all for it. Like you said I feel like it more on how and what you upvote yourself for.

Personally I am on the fence with this. If an individual self votes, yet the vast majority of his earning is returned to the platform or uses it to by more STEEM to support the platform or to delegate, it is actually more effective and beneficial to the entire ecosystem if they up-vote themselves. Now, if someone is up-voting themselves and cashing out of the system and not bringing anything into the ecosystem that can be seen as a bit different.

Just my opinion for what it's worth.

Respectfully yours,

Thats actually a really good point that you're bringing up. if that person is solely up voting themselves to put back into steemit; then hell yeah do it, Just don't forget others on the way. It is always important to bring people up with you. The more people you bring up the more SP that will be in the system!

Absolutely. I have seen people attack other large users that upvote themselves, but if you pull up their wallet information you can see what they do with it. Many continue to power up (which locks the funds in the ecosystem for 13 weeks), stabilizing the environment. Most of them also delegate, and currently there is a huge shortage of decelerators affecting many bots and guilds.

Hate to say it, but many people that disagree with upvoting do it out of jealous and do not investigate further the purpose of doing so.

Oddly enough, most of the people against upvoting take a lot of their earnings out of steemit.

Just from my observations.

Yeah I also noticed that some of the complainers of self-voting is in a consent power down and you can look that they are taking power away from steemit. I am all for people taking SBD off steemit to pay the bills or go on a vacation don't get me wrong. But we are given way to much SBD to do that, there really is no need for them to touch their glorious SP

Great message, Danny. I love the fact that you talked to several people about this and got different opinions.

About your video: It looks stretched. I think the format you used kind of changed the proportions of it a little bit.

Thanks so much for having a look for me! I'll have to keep a extra eye out and double check my equipment before I record so i shoot in the correct format!

It's always better to give than receive. That's why in all cases and circumstances, I never give myself any upovotes no matter if what I have to say is more important or not. Especially on open platforms, it's even better to give.

Yep you're correct I have selfvoted before but im trying to shy away from the whole idea of that.

Yes yes! It's funny because so many say don't do it...then you look at their posts and BAM! They upvoted themselves 😛 I guess to each their own and if you feel like you need it then do it. Awesome post dan😁

don't do as Donny don't does - informercial? on the simpsons
PS - Grammarly HATES me

You so smart 🙀

Thanks kristyyd! I guess anything is good in moderation!

Nice one :)

It'll be a never ending debate this one, and clearly everyone has a different point of view, and of course the right to self-vote if they wish.

As I mentioned in a reply to you on another post, a minnows vote and won't have much impact on your own rewards when you self-vote, and so I think it's much better to give this vote to others to try and build up support from larger votes.

Cheers for the mention and love for the #stewardsofgondor!

Yep it will definitely be never ending for sure! The worst thing about being a plankton is the bandwidth issue which makes #stewardsofgondor that much better for those that need it. I hope more people like @fulltimegeek will do what he does!

I honestly see no problem with people upvoting themselves even if they cash out. They already provided value to the platform by investing to it so a little boost from themselves won't be bad after all. I feel like a content creator should really value his/her work in order to succeed in whatever he /she is doing. My upvote isn't worth anything at this moment but as I said I see no problem in it .

Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.

Cool man love seeing the opinion from the other side of the table! You definitely bring a valid point to the table!

Interesting video dude! I'll check the discord. As a new user and creator, we hardly get noticed and there's so much time and effort that get's put into creating content. And at the end it looks just okay. Good thing is it only gets better since it's so @#! Lol! Nice video tho mate, i love the platform and the community that's building around it Danny

Thanks for checking this out man! I look forward for seeing you around! There is so many interesting talented people around steemit to meet its amazing!

i'm new so i have to read the comments and learn from you guys. I think I have to revisit this question myself the further I go along using this site.

I think you can get away with a few self votes! Your main focus is to get as much SP as you can!

I have only been on Steemit for several days, so I don't have clue about how this works. It does strike me weird though, that I would vote for myself. In the beginning I didn't know what that meant. I think I checked the box to upvote myself. For a while I couldn't figure out why votes kept showing I voted for me, Duh!

At our levels of SP I think it doesn't hurt our image to upvote yourself. Our goals should be to power up as much SP!
